 Background:

The International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement consists of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and 192 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, where the Swedish Red Cross (SRC) and Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) are two such National Societies. Together this is the world's largest humanitarian network, and its work is guided by its Seven Fundamental Principles. The Red Cross Red Crescent Movements purpose is to help without discrimination those who suffer and thus contribute to peace in the world. SRC has been working together with SRCS in Sudan since the early 1990’s. All SRC activities are carried out through established SRCS structures and are based on the Fundamental principles, values and policies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

Currently, the SRC Country Representative, is supporting remotely, with regular visits to SRCS in Sudan. 

 

In order to support the SRC’s current way of working in Sudan, SRCS/SRC are looking for Programme Support Officer to follow-up on the day-to-day tasks required to support the SRCS/SRC partnership.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of SRC supported projects and activities, this could include, for example, following up with SRCS branches on narrative and financial reporting ensuring accurate information and data, supporting SRC in preparing donor/HQ reports
  • Assist in financial, administrative, logistical, procurement and protocol tasks
  • Support procedures for procurement and that supporting documents are in accordance with SRCS/SRC requirements 
  • Support financial audit processes, together with the project teams and finance officers, and contribute to ensuring that they are being completed on time  
  • Participate in coordination meetings, as requested
  • Maintain a strong working relationship and close liaison with the SRC Country Representative, SRCS Department Heads, as well as SRCS branches involved in the implementation of SRC supported programmes.
  • Maintain and consolidate working relationships within the wider RCRC Movement and with external stakeholders as needed. 
  • Respect SRCS/SRC’s security regulation for Sudan

Carry out any other relevant task assigned by the SRCS/SRC Country Representative


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Relevant academic degree in social sciences, development studies, business management or related fieldX

At least 3 years relevant working experience in supporting humanitarian or development programX 
Experience in planning, monitoring, learning, evaluation and reportingX

Experience of working with Protection, Gender and Inclusion (PGI), Community Engagement and Accountability (CEA), Volunteer Management and/or Green Response  X
