As we enter a bold new strategic phase in Sudan, we're seeking a passionate, skilled consultant to help lead the charge towards gender transformative programming that makes a real difference in the lives of children, families, and communities across the country.

This is more than a consultancy. It’s a movement toward equity, inclusion, and systemic transformation—from within our organization to the very heart of the communities we serve.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

What You'll Do

Over six dynamic months, you will lead a phased journey to embed gender equality at every level of our work:

Phase 1 – Gender Equality Self-Assessment (GESA)

  • Unpack our current strengths, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Evaluate how gender equality lives in our culture, systems, and programming.

Phase 2 – Gender Analysis

  • Conduct a deep dive into the gender dynamics shaping lives in Sudan.
  • Analyze needs, power relations, GBV risks, and intersectional vulnerabilities.
  • Translate evidence into actionable insights.

Phase 3 – Gender Action Plan & Capacity Strengthening

  • Develop a bold, achievable Gender Action Plan for 2025–2027.
  • Support our teams to lead change—from policy to frontline programming.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Must-Haves

  • Deep commitment to gender equality and feminist principles
  • Experience in gender programming or social change work in Sudan
  • Ability to center and elevate the voices of children and women
  • Strong interpersonal and respectful communication skills
  • Fluent in Arabic (written and spoken), with excellent written presentation abilities
  • A trauma-informed, participatory, and inclusive approach

Nice-to-Haves

  • Gender analysis experience (tools and guidance provided)
  • Familiarity with conflict sensitivity and humanitarian frameworks
  • Qualitative/quantitative research experience
  • Ability to travel within Sudan (optional – safety dependent)

  2. Gender Equality Self-Assessment (July 2025)
  3. Comprehensive Gender Analysis (August 2025)
  4. Gender Action Plan (2025–27) (September 2025)
  5. Stakeholder Presentation & Final Submission (September 2025)

📍 Where You'll Work

  • Remotely from anywhere—with possible travel to Sudan (optional)
  • Locations for in-country data collection will be identified based on safety
  • Focus areas include Khartoum, Gedarif, Blue Nile, Kordofan, and Darfur
