Background: The Sudanese Red Crescent Society (SRCS) is a lead National society in providing quality humanitarian work, was established in 1956 and accepted into the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement as a member of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). The SRCS operates across the Sudan with 18 branches.
The mission of (SRCS) is to provide humanitarian aid services towards building secure and capable urban and rural communities through the transition to resilience, recovery, rehabilitation and development, in compliance with International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement Principles and guidelines and in conformity with international human rights, through a sustainable development approach where environment conservation and rationalized use of natural resources are considered top priorities to help guarantee a safe global environment for future generations.
Child Affected by the Armed Conflict (CAAC) project supports the IFRC Appeal on Protection and Assistance to Children Affected by Armed Conflict. Children, of diverse genders and backgrounds, are affected by armed conflict. These children are among the most at risk to violence, abuse, and exploitation and lost access to education. National Societies across the Africa, Americas, and MENA regions are taking actions to protect and assist children affected by armed conflict. This especially includes child migrants, IDPs, and refugees. SRCS will support access to a range of essential services including Restoring Family Links, referral pathways, safe spaces, SGBV prevention and response, and access to education. This project will help to strengthen, scale the reach and quality of these interventions. |

Duties and responsibilities:
1- Establish, support, and monitor Community-based Child Protection Networks to identify, assist, and refer children facing protection issues. 2- Conduct service mapping to identify partners and service providers addressing child protection issues and establish a robust safe referral pathway within the state. 3- Conduct capacity building training to staff and volunteers and facilitate awareness raising sessions to target affected communities on Child Protection, SGBV, PSEA, and other protection-related issues. 4- Develop weekly activity plans in conjunction with line staff and volunteers as needed, ensuring the seamless implementation of these plans. 5- Ensure the prompt and accurate registration of at-risk children, including unaccompanied and separated children, while sharing relevant information with SRCS project manager. 6- Represent SRCS at the community level, country coordination meetings, and engage with local authorities when needed. 7- Coordinate with the Logistics team to ensure the timely and secure delivery of supplies designated for field activities. 8- Adhere to safeguarding policies and guidelines and report any concerns to the Safeguarding focal point. 9- Review and monitor the project's financial plan while ensuring the prompt submission of the financial report. 10- Conduct consistent monitoring and deliver reports on the evolving operational context and protection risks ensuring that prevention, mitigation, and response strategies are appropriately focused and modified. 11- Carry out additional responsibilities related to Child Protection activities and initiatives as assigned by the Line Manager. |
