About SOS Sahel Program:
SOS Sahel Sudan Organization is a national, voluntary, humanitarian, development, and non-profit organization working in various areas of humanitarian interventions in Sudan, the organization was founded in 2010 as a policy of SOS Sahel UK to transform the organization to SOS Sahel Sudan for securing more sustainability to the humanitarian interventions in Sudan.
SOS Sahel Sudan has a head office in Khartoum east, and it has main and sub - offices at the state and locality levels in seven states in Sudan.

Organization's mission: ● Support women, men, and children to realize their rights, potentials, and secured livelihood.
● Help dry land dwellers challenges marginalization and secure their rights.
● Build greater understanding among policymakers, donor, the development community and the public.

SOS Sahel teams work in partnership with key stakeholders and local government under formal protocols which maximize resources and enhance multi-stakeholder coordination mechanisms.
The primary purpose of the establishment of SOS Sahel Sudan is to fight against poverty through activities centered on natural resource management, and all program designs will place target at their Centre, ensuring that save and collaborative natural resources management are met



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Specific Responsibilities
 Facilitate and assist in the implementation of day to day activities related to water, public health
and sanitation activities based on the agreed action plan
 Conduct awareness sessions on health and sanitation problems.
 Plan, implement, monitor and evaluate the public health and sanitation project.
 Provide timely reports to project manager on activities and results.
 Ensure regular, quality supervision and monitoring of the health related activities.
 Follow up the project implementation at impact area and village level to ensure sustainability.
 Collect and provide all project related data at the targeted village level.
 Develop project ownership among the beneficiaries.
 Participate in assessments related to public health and sanitation.
 Ensure community participation and gender issues in project implementation.
 Carry out any other duties assigned to him/her by her/ his supervisor.
Liaison
 Foster, develop and maintain strong partnership relationships and regular contact with national
and international NGOs, UN agencies, government officials, and other stakeholders working in
the field of WASH services
 Represent SOS Sahel externally in the WASH project areas as required, including but not limited
to UN/NGO/donor meetings, joint agency assessments and task force meetings in the sector
 Foster, develop and maintain partnership relationships with national partners and communities
to assess the effectiveness of current projects and to identify possibilities for new projects
 Assist Head of Programs, National WASH coordinator and the project manager as needed
regarding WASH issues
 Ensure that SOS Sahel policies and procedures are adhered to WASH Projects adequately
Human Resources
 Promote positive team environment between various ethnicities and local WASH staff at the
projects areas
 Facilitate dialogue and group decision making where appropriate.
 Ensure mentoring and coaching for performance of WASH staff is undertaken for direct reports.
 Ensure WASH staff are trained to the appropriate national and international standards
 Supervise consultants or volunteers as required concerning WASH activities

line managers.


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

3.0 Qualifications
 Bachelor degree in Public health, civil engineer, geology or relevant engineering degree.
 2 - 3 years’ experience working in the field of water, public health and sanitation.
 Ability to read and write in English as well as Arabic language.
 Ability to effectively communicate technical issues to community members and write reports.
 Good computer skill (Word and excel).
 Ability to travel frequently to the project sites.
