 Background:

The Nutrition Coordinator will be responsible for effective coordination, planning, organizing, supervising, and actual implementation of nutrition activities (Treatment of MAM, Home Fortification and Emergency Blanket Supplementary Feeding Programme in Port Sudan, Swakin and Dordaib localities in Red Sea state. The Nutrition Coordinator will supervise a team of 3 Localities based Nutritionists, database officer plus a team of temporary nutrition staff including site storekeepers, measurers and community outreach team.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Adherently, follow and maintain community-based nutrition Integrated Programme (CNIP) protocol and standards during the entire implementation of the program.
  • Organize training on anthropometric measurement, nutrition and health counseling for staff and Community Mobilizers. 
  • Organize screening campaign on a monthly basis for children 6-59 months and PLW and compile the screening data in one report indicating percent of target beneficiaries screened versus registered. 
  • Ensure all cases of malnutrition are referred to the respective treatment programme (SC/OTP/TSFP).
  • Supervise verification and registration of children 6-59 months and PLW to the appropriate program and ensure the ration cards are issued for them after the verification and registration
  • Conduct regular follow – up meeting with staff, Measurers and Community Mobilizers to assess the team’s performance, identify challenges and discuss/ implement solutions, and to develop/ discuss the implementation plans. 
  • Maintain the team spirit and should conduct all duties in a professional manner.
  • Ensure the women empowerment and gender equity during the CNIP implementation
  • Prepare monthly food requests and ensure proper storage and handling of CNIP commodities from all sites
  • Prepare a monthly report on all CNIP activities 
  • Represent WHH at relevant nutrition meetings 
  • Respect the code of conduct of WHH and follow WHH’s security protocols.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Degree in Nutrition or Health related field 
  • At least 4 years of relevant work experience in implementation Nutrition activities, including TSFPs, eBSFPs and home-fortification
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CMAM databases.
  • Excellent understanding of and experience with the national nutrition protocols, CMAM programming and nutrition assessments
  • Good command of both written and spoken English and Arabic language.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal relation skills
