Duties and responsibilities:
POSITION SUMMARY: The IT Assistant, under direct supervision of SCO Officer and technical supervision of IT Coordinator will be responsible to lead and support area level IT department. The IT Assistant should provide technical support to RI staff in Al-Managil Area Office and works closely with the IT Coordinator to help drive down global IT regulations and procedures to the local country offices. IT Assistant will also responsible to install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality. GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (routers, printers etc.)
- Check the network connectivity of the field sites, and follow up with the ISP in case of any problem
- Check computer hardware (hard drives, mouses, keyboards etc.) to ensure functionality
- Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications
- Develop and maintain local networks in ways that optimize performance
- Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems
- Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to access our SSO page, and how to operate new software and computer equipment
- Organize and schedule upgrades and monthly maintenance without deterring others from completing their work
- Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
- Maintain records/logs of repairs and fixes and maintenance schedule
- Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders
- Check the RI ticketing system and respond to users requests when assigned
- IT knowledge and user training
- Complete and fulfill all IT training requirements
- Attend necessary IT webinars and seminars to stay up-to-date with changes to all IT-managed solutions
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends and support best practices
- Provide basic IT user training and orientation to local staff as needed
- Other Duties as Assigned.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Confidentiality - Ensuring the non-disclosure of any information whatsoever relating to the practices and business of RI acquired in the course of duty, to any other person or organization without authority, except in the normal execution of duty.

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Essential - Proven experience as IT Assistant/Officer or relevant position with minimum 3years of experience in relevant field.
- Excellent diagnostic and problem solving skills
- Excellent communication ability
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills
- In depth understanding of diverse computer systems and networks
- Good knowledge of internet security and data privacy principles
- Degree in Computer Science, engineering or relevant field
- Certification as IT Technician will be an advantage (e.g. CompTIA A+, MTA)
- A successful IT Assistant must have a thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks and operating systems. The ideal candidate will also have great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail.
