 Background:

General Objective:

Reporting to Finance Officer, the Finance Assistant will provide administrative support to the project/programme and in managing the project’s/programme’s finances in a compliant with WHH policies and procedures. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Assist in the project’s/program’s financial administration

  • Provide necessary data to monitor the cash-flow situation and plan the project’s/programme’s (annual/monthly) finances.
  • Assist in monitoring expenditures/costs cost type and cost category) with regard to the budget.
  • Prepare the necessary documentation for banking transactions (deposit cash or cheque, cash cheques, collect monthly bank statement etc.)
  • Assist in preparing and controlling vouchers of the project/ programme office and country office.
  • Follow up on and arrange for a/c receivables and payables settlement (e.g. payment of utilities)
  • Bill private telephone, vehicle use etc.
  • Provide necessary documents and reports for internal controlling. 
     

Specific activities and duties of the position / Position specific qualifications

 

  • Assist the Finance Officer in coordinating with the bank-related matters.
  • Record delegated financial transactions following appropriate authorizations.
  • Support program and operations team with training and guidance on financial paperwork and systems.
  • Ensure that all paperwork submitted for transactions/payment are complete.
  • Prepare delegated financial reports, as needed.
  • Scanning of vouchers into FundsPro. 
  • Fulfillment of any other tasks which are assigned by the management and correspond in general with the character of this position.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Education required: Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting or related field
  • Work Experience: At least 3 years of related working experience. Preferably with NGOs.       

 

 Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      Required:

  • English Language skills.
  • Demonstrate good judgment and sound financial "common sense.”
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills and a high level of attention to detail.
  • Organized and able to work in a fast paced and deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent in Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel spreadsheets. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Values collaboration and contributing to the shared goals and success of the team and Organization.
