About Sudan: 

 

RI currently operates in five states (Blue Nile, Gedarif , Al Jazirah, Red Sea and North Darfur) and soon expanding more states, with a focus on the four RI sector pillars: Health, WASH, Nutrition, and Protection.

 

 Job summary: 

Ensure the implementation of all nutritional related activities of the programme and coordinate and manage the team under his/her responsibility according to the WHO-WFP and SMoH protocols in order to improve the nutritional conditions of the target population.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to ensure the effective implementation of all nutrition project components; Outpatient Therapeutic Programme (OTP), Targeted Supplementary Feeding Programme (SFP), community mobilization, and Infant and Young Child Feeding activities. 
  • In liaison with H & N  officer, provide technical guidance to support Relief International nutrition staff and relevant partners. 
  • Ensure all staff understand and implement programme protocols used in the treatment of the acutely malnourished children (CMAM/NIPP guidelines). 
  • Ensure appropriate and consistent health and nutrition education messaging to mothers and other carers at OTP/SFP sites and in the community
  • Develop field monthly work plans in liaison H & N  Officer.
  • Compile Health facilities weekly activity/performance reports and submit to H & N   Officer .
  • In cooperation with H & N   Officer / H & N   Coordinator, conduct  trainings to build the capacity of staff/volunteers, MoH staff and the community at large in identification and management of the malnourished and in prevention of malnutrition.
  • Facilitate Field supplies requests, distribution plans, and consumption reports.
  • Liaise with other implementing partners and local authorities to maximize collaboration and ensure proper coordination of activities.
  • Control nutrition food stocks, drugs at the field level ensuring all the stock, pin cards are updated and stores arranged properly.

Others:

  • Comply with all relevant RI policies and procedures with respect to child protection, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies.
  • Carry out the performance appraisals to all the staffs reporting to position on timely basis.
  • Any other tasks as required by the nutrition Sector lead.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:


 Diploma or Higher-level education with at least 5 years of relevant work’s experience.
 Diploma in Pharmacy or Nursing or Logistics or any relevant qualifications, with several years (at least three years) of work in warehouses where medical and non – medical commodities are managed.
 Having worked in hospital pharmacy or pharmacy managed by reputable NGOs or UN agencies such as UNICEF, UNFPA and/ or WHO.
 Experience in working with NGOs and in managing pharmacy and pharmaceutical supply chain and warehouse/inventory management.
 Ability to focus on priorities, good management, coaching and communication skills
 Proficient in spoken and written English
 Computer literate with skills in excel sheet, Microsoft office and Power Point presentation, and knowledge of inventory software/ reporting
 Understanding of complex emergencies; experience of working in insecure and crisis environments.
 Knowledge of state laws and regulations.
