Background: The Project Manager will oversee the implementation of the Integrated Life-Saving Emergency Response for Conflict-Affected IDPs in Sudan (ILSER) project, ensuring the effective delivery of all emergency support services and activities. The role will involve managing key interventions in healthcare, nutrition, cash assistance, distribution of relief items, and psychosocial support to affected population, working in close coordination with field teams, local and national authorities and relevant clusters, and stakeholders to meet the needs of conflict-affected populations in the targeted states. The Project Manager will ensure the achievement of project objectives in line with donor requirements, international standards, and the strategic goals of Islamic Relief Worldwide Sudan.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Project Coordination & Implementation:
- Lead the implementation of the ILSER project, ensuring activities are align with project objectives and donor requirements.
- Oversee the delivery of health and nutrition services, including CMAM, maternal and child health, micronutrient supplementation, and nutrition education, particularly in IDP camps and host communities.
- Supervise the distribution of food packs, plastic sheets, and multi-purpose cash assistance to vulnerable populations.
- Ensure effective coordination between program teams, procurement, and logistics to guarantee timely delivery of goods and services.
- Team Management & Capacity Building:
- Manage and provide technical guidance to the project staff, ensuring that they adhere to project protocols and international standards.
- Support the capacity-building of field staff, health workers, and volunteers in nutrition, healthcare, and community-based interventions.
- Foster a collaborative work environment and encourage innovation and problem-solving within the project team.
- Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting:
- Ensure the monitoring of project activities, assessing progress, identifying challenges, and adjusting strategies as needed.
- Collaborate with the MEAL team to track health and nutrition data, beneficiary details, and outcomes.
- Prepare timely, accurate reports on project activities, highlighting successes, challenges, and lessons learned, ensuring that reports comply with donor requirements.
- Regularly monitor project expenditure to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints and financial oversight.
- Stakeholder Coordination & Advocacy:
- Coordinate with local authorities, health facilities, and community leaders to ensure smooth project implementation.
- Engage with donors, media, and advocacy groups to raise awareness of the project’s impact and promote continued support.
- Identify and address health, nutrition, and humanitarian risks, proposing solutions to mitigate any emerging issues.
- Logistics & Field Operations:
- Oversee the procurement, transportation, and distribution of medicines, food packs, cash assistance, and other essential supplies to project areas.
- Manage logistics to ensure that all supplies reach the target populations in a timely and efficient manner.
- Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities, provide technical support, and ensure proper implementation on the ground.
- Health & Nutrition Intervention Oversight:
- Supervise the provision of healthcare services in IDP-affected areas, including treatment for malnutrition and chronic diseases.
- Ensure that 900 vulnerable patients receive necessary cash assistance for healthcare expenditures, and 43,080 people benefit from disease prevention and psychosocial support.
- Oversee the training and support of 2,700 mothers on improved nutrition practices, ensuring the reduction of malnutrition among vulnerable groups, particularly children and mothers.
- Psychosocial Support & Staff Well-being:
- Ensure the provision of psychosocial support for both beneficiaries and staff, addressing mental health needs during the crisis.
- Work closely with the HR department to provide psychosocial support services for 180+ staff members.
Working Conditions: - The duty station is based in the country office, with frequent field travels up to 50% of the time, depending on project needs.
- Field travel will require working in challenging environments, including basic living conditions and limited resources.
- Movement to project locations will be facilitated through IR vehicles or approved means of transportation based on availability and practicality.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, nutrition, social sciences, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in managing humanitarian projects, preferably with a focus on health, nutrition, or emergency response.
- Proven experience in managing multi-sectoral projects, including health, nutrition, and cash assistance.
- Strong leadership skills and experience in managing diverse teams in challenging environments.
- Experience in budget management, donor reporting, and project monitoring and evaluation.
- Proficiency in Arabic and English (spoken and written).
- Strong understanding of the local context in Sudan and the challenges facing IDPs and vulnerable communities.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel) and project management tools.
- Commitment to humanitarian principles, cultural sensitivity, and ethical standards.
- His/her Age not reached retirement age.
