Background: I. Job Summary: CARE Sudan is looking for a result-oriented, flexible individual, with a strong sense of integrity to join the team as the Senior Risk and Compliance Officer (SRCO).  The SRCO will be responsible for supporting the Risk and Compliance Manager (RCM) in coordinating compliance and risk management tasks for the country office. The position holder will join a team that is working to institutionalize a risk-informed management approach, fostering a culture of compliance, and ensuring ethical practices across CARE Sudan. He/She will support in assessments, compliance reviews, internal audits, and fraud management activities for the Country Office (CO). |

Duties and responsibilities: II. Job Responsibilities and Activities: b. Participate in risk assessments by gathering and analyzing relevant information, prepare risk assessment reports that track the status of risk mitigation activities, and report the results regularly to the RCM. Â c. Participate in facilitating awareness-raising sessions on risk management processes for all staff of CARE Sudan. d. Collaborate with other departments to review systems, policies, and procedures that enhance risk management practices. Key responsibility area 2: Support CARE Sudan’s Compliance Plan (25 % time) f. Support the ongoing compliance embedding process using internal policies and regulatory requirements, and maintenance of a comprehensive up-to-date organizational policy and regulations database. g. Support in the maintenance of up-to-date obligations registers and updating COMFORT and ROAR. h. Participate in Due Diligence Assessments of CARE Sudan partners as assigned by the RCM. i. Participate in capacity-building initiatives for CARE Sudan partners on internal controls, risk management, and donor compliance as assigned by the RCM. Key responsibility area 3: Organizational Audit Program and Internal Control Risk Reviews (20% time) c. Â Analyze internal/external audit findings and follow up to ensure the successful resolution/ closing of the findings. d. Â Foster risk & Compliance department’s communication with PMs, HoOs, DCDs and HRM to ensure audit and spot-check engagement expectations and objectives are clear and met by all parties. Key responsibility area 3: Support Staff Capacity building interventions (10% time) b. Participate and/ or facilitate capacity building for all staff and partners aimed at strengthening fraud prevention, risk management, and compliance in the organization. c. Support the convening periodically (meetings) to discuss CARE’s risk profile with Management staff. a. Provide good admin support to Partners upon SMT request etc. b. Become familiar with Partnership strategy and contribute to establishing quality partnerships. c. Support diversity and gender equality to promote acceptance of diversity. a. Be aware of the CIS Safety and Security Management Plan (SSMP) and comply with it at all times b. Be aware of CARE’s commitments to Gender and Diversity, and strive to uphold them c. Promote CARE’s core values at all times.
