Background:
Based in Al-JAZIRAH, under the direct supervision of Nutrition and C4D Supervisor, The nutrition Officer is responsible for the effective, qualitative and efficient implementation of nutrition activities in the health facility supported by PUI and in the community under the catchment of the health facility, providing technical support and on job training for the MOH staff in the health facility. Under the direct supervision of health facility supervisor, the nutrition officer plans, supervises and ensure execution of the nutrition activities including OTP, malnutrition screening, defaulter tracing and patient referral. S/he follows Sudan MOH guidelines and universal standards to ensure quality and continuity of care.
Duties and responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:
Ensure implementation of nutrition activities according to Sudan nutrition protocol
Ensure availability of the supplies needed for the nutrition program in adequate amount and notifying the HF supervisor at appropriate time before stock depletion so that efforts for replenishment is made.
Work closely with C4D officer on strengthening the community screening and referral of malnutrition cases
Ensure proper screening of all under-five children who come to health facility for malnutrition
He/she participates in the evaluation and to the definition of the training needs of his/her team
Provide on-job training for MOH staff on implementation of the national protocol
Supervise malnutrition screening, taking of anthropometry, admission and recording of beneficiary information.
In liaison with C4D officer, develop lists for home visits, defaulter tracing, and ensure the tracing of the defaulter cases
Collect nutrition data and submit to the HF supervisor on weekly base
Participate in assessments as may be required by the supervisor
Ensure timely referral of children with complicated SAM to SC in collaboration with HF supervisor to the SC
Any other duty as required by the supervisor
