 Background:

PURPOSE of the POSITION:

To provide technical and management support in developing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of SIPRA project activities.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES:

  • Responsible of development and follow up of the PRFs.
  •  Follow up of payments with Finance department.
  • Actively engaged in all agricultural activities related to the project (planning and implementation),.
  • Oversee and coordinate the implementation of the on ground agricultural activities at locality and field level. 
  • Actively participate in liaison with, raise awareness of, sensitize and mobilize project beneficiaries and stakeholders to engage and participate in and contribute to implementation of project activities.
  • Participate and support in any procurement and delivery of all supplies and materials related to SIPRA Gedaref project.
  • Participate in procurement committee for all related SIPRA Gedaref project.
  • Scan & upload procurement files on ZOA share point.
  • Generate procurement tracking sheet, capture the records and progress and submission on weekly basis.
  • Any other duties that are reasonably consistent with the key tasks of the function. 
  • In consultation with the direct supervisor and with support from the MEAL team, carry out needs assessments, consultations, case studies, information collection and validation tasks, as deem necessary.
  • Oversees planning and implementation of      project activities assigned by the project and its local partners and provide guidance and technical support to ensure timely and quality results.
  • Works closely with the agriculture extension and research departments of the Ministry of Production and Economic Resources, to identify and support application of activities in the target      localities.
  • Develop and facilitate implementation of plans, in collaboration with the project team.
  • In collaboration with beneficiaries and stakeholders establish and maintain an effective information – sharing, complaints and feedback mechanisms. 
  • Monitors and documents project progress, success stories, challenges and efforts to overcome them and shares the information with supervisor, beneficiaries, partners and other concerned stakeholders.
  • Provide written reports to the Project Coordinator based on agreed schedule, add-hoc and timelines.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • B.Sc. degree in Agriculture.
  • Minimum working experience of 5 years in agricultural projects combined with experience in logistics and procurement, preferably in Gedaref State.
  • Experience in design, implementation, and monitoring of agricultural projects.
  • Good spoken and written command of English. 
  • Good reports writing skills 
  • Computer skills
  • Affinity with development work and International NGO’s.

 SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Duty station is Gedaref with frequent trips to project locations in Gedaref with up to 50% of time required for travel to the project areas in Gedaref .

The candidate will subject to Membercheck /COTER procedures, which is against Government Sanction lists to verify that the candidate is not on any of these lists. This counter-terrorism check is a requirement of Donor Government Regulations and is therefore an important part of an employee’s ability to fulfil his/her employment requirements before signing the Employment Contract with the Organization.

WE OFFER: The salary scale for this position is ranged between H 5, 893 & H 6, 937 USD per month based on experience and qualifications.
