Education Coordinator

LM International Sudan formerly known as International Aid Services (IAS) is a non-political and non-profit international relief and development organization founded in 1989 with the purpose of assisting people in need.  Background:

Ensure LM International not only implement the best inclusive education interventions but is also creating an impact through positioning and influence at the policy level. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

1. Project Planning and Coordination

  • Lead the planning and implementation of education projects, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and donor requirements.
  • Develop detailed work plans, set targets, and oversee day-to-day activities to ensure effective project delivery.
  • Coordinate closely with field staff and other departments (e.g., finance, logistics) to maintain project timelines and address challenges.

2. Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E)

  • Work with M&E staff to develop and apply monitoring tools to track project progress and measure impact.
  • Conduct regular field visits to verify activities and provide guidance to ensure project standards are met.
  • Compile and review reports from field officers, providing feedback and ensuring accuracy and completeness.

3. Capacity Building and Support

  • Support and mentor education officers, facilitators, and other program staff to strengthen their capacity and skills.
  • Conduct training sessions on program guidelines, reporting requirements, and implementation protocols.
  • Ensure that all team members are aware of and apply relevant educational and child protection standards.

4. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Serve as the main point of contact for external partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders.
  • Facilitate community engagement sessions to inform, involve, and garner support for education initiatives.
  • Collaborate with local authorities and education sector partners to align program goals and share best practices.

5. Reporting and Documentation

  • Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive reports for internal and external audiences, including donor reporting.
  • Maintain detailed records of project activities, budget expenditures, and program impact.
  • Work with the M&E team to analyze data and contribute to program evaluations, incorporating lessons learned into future planning.

6. Compliance and Standards

  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies, donor guidelines, and educational standards.
  • Support the development and application of manuals and guidelines, verifying that they are applied consistently across all project sites.
  • Promote the integration of PSEA, gender sensitivity, and inclusive education practices into all program activities.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the management.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Sciences, International Development, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferable.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in Education with an INGO, NGO, preferably in a conflict or post-conflict setting.

Skills: Strong project management, training, and capacity-building skills. Proficiency in MS Office and familiarity with data analysis tools is preferred.

Language: Proficiency in [local language(s)] and English (or other required languages).

Attributes: Strong interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills, with a commitment to child protection and inclusive education practices.
