 Background:

The Project Coordinator has the main responsibility of coordinating the Joint Response five (JR5) project in the ZOA program areas i.e. Gedaref, East, South and North Darfur. In addition, the PC will support the programme department in reporting, proposal development, and communications. It is a key hands-on and dynamic role ensuring donor compliance, documenting, and disseminating results and lessons learned. 

 

ZOA implements projects in the sectors of Food Security and Livelihoods (FSL), WASH, Shelter/NFI, Education and Peacebuilding projects, with cross-cutting theme of gender, disability & inclusion, in recovery and relief contexts. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

 MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES:

The Project Coordinator is responsible for the following tasks, responsibilities, and results:

                

JR5 Coordination: 

  • Lead in the coordination of the multi-state programmes of JR5 project activities with support from the Programme Managers, project coordinators and local partners in Gedaref, East, South, and North Darfur States. 
  • Lead in the coordination of the Joint Response with the consortium lead agency and serve as the project focal person to the consortium lead. 
  • Ensure narrative, financial and IATI reports are submitted on time and requests from the consortium lead are followed upon in close collaboration with the Project, MEAL and finance team. 
  • Professionally represent ZOA in all coordination meetings & workshops and keep Programme Managers, JR Coordinators in program areas and other relevant colleagues up to date. 

Reporting

  • Coordinates, writes, and supports field staff to prepare and submit timely and quality project reports required by ZOA, donors or other stakeholders including regular field monthly and quarterly reports in close collaboration with project leads and MEAL team. 

 

Proposal Development:

  • Support proposal development by writing proposals for small and/or short-term proposals and supports the programme department for larger and long-term proposals. 

Communications

  • Maintains ZOA social media and works with the MEAL Manager to capture and share best practices and success stories. 

External relations

  • In relation to the JR5 project and other projects facilitates communication and preparations with concerned staff for visits by donors, consultants, missions, etc.
  • Follows-up and provides general support to specific projects as requested by the direct supervisor.
  • Any other responsibilities assigned by supervisor.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Knowledge/experience

  • 5-7 years’ experience in relevant position
  • Work experience in international development, preferably with an (I)NGO
  • Work experience in at least two sectors of ZOA Sudan’s programme sectors. 
  • Experience in working with relevant institutional donors.
  • Bachelor’s degree in development, gender or related fields with practical experience 
  • Demonstrated affinity and knowledge about the social, political and gender aspects of development.
  • Fluency in written and spoken Arabic and English
  • Basic knowledge about gender, do no harm and Core Humanitarian Standards
  • Basic knowledge about monitoring and evaluation systems and methods.

 

SKILLS: 

  • Strong conceptual and writing skills
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
  • Basic excel skills
  • Good in developing and maintaining good relationships 
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills

 SPECIAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  • Up to 25% of time required to travel to ZOA programme locations in Sudan

The candidate will subject to Membercheck /COTER procedures, which is against Government Sanction lists to verify that the candidate is not on any of these lists. This counter-terrorism check is a requirement of Donor Government Regulations and is therefore an important part of an employee’s ability to fulfil his/her employment requirements before signing the Employment Contract with the Organization.

WE OFFER: The salary scale for this position is ranged between J 5 1,584 USD and J 6 1,669 USD basic salary per month based on experience and qualifications.
