LM International

 Background:

Coordinate all project activities in the state



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Project Implementation

  • Provide oversight to ensure that projects are implemented as planned
  • Supervise Project Coordinators and ensure effective and efficient implementation of project activities in accordance with the agreements.
  • Support PCs to develop annual and quarterly work plans   
  • Participate in development of new training curricula and policies for various project activities

Reporting

  • Ensure that Project Coordinators submit quarterly project progress reports in line with the donor and organisational requirements. 
  • On request from the PM, provide information needed for back donor reports

Strategic Planning

  • Upon request from Area Coordinator or the Deputy Programme Manager, provide information needed for the formulation of the country strategy. 
  • Pick up ideas on funding opportunities and forward them to the DPM. 
  • Participate in writing project proposals.
  • Give input towards the elaboration of project proposals. 
  • In liaison with the PSM provide BoQs for project activities

Project development and proposal writing

  • Participate in the elaboration of project proposals.
  • Participate in investigating funding options, internal or external funding.
  • In liaison with the relevant Project Coordinators, provide technical bills of quantities to facilitate project design.
  • Contribute towards ensuring that projects are innovative and relevant.
  • Give input to analysis of project proposals and propose modifications in project proposals

Project/Programme Monitoring, evaluation and learning

  • Follow up action points/recommendations from reports and field visits and ensure they are implemented 
  • Monitor implementation of projects to ensure that projects are implemented as planned (timeliness and quality)

Capacity Building of local partners

  • Identify technical capacity gaps of staff and organise capacity building initiatives to address the identified gaps
  • Identify technical capacity gaps of local partner organisation and support their capacity building initiatives for local partners 

Networking

  • On request from the PM, attend collaboration/sector coordination meetings 
  • Identify and recommend networks, consortia, or organisations for possible collaborations 
  • Represent LM International at State Level Sector Coordination meetings and other related engagements

Identification of Local Partners 

  • Look out for potential partners and recommend the most promising to the PM
  • On request from PM, make assessments of potential local partner organisations 
  • Give input to decisions to initiate new partnerships

HR& Leadership to the State Field team

  • Provide leadership to the field officers
  • Participate in recruitment of field staff
  • Manage staff leave days to ensure that staff are able to take leave without affecting projects implementation and other important deadlines 
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to field staff 

Financial management and logistics

  • Ensure that procurement plans and requests are developed and submitted in time
  • Ensure that financial requests are submitted in time 
  • Ensure funds are used for their intended purposes 
  • Ensure timely submission of accountabilities by field staff

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Education: University degree in Geology, Development, Economics, Sociology, Social Sciences or related subject 
  2. Experience:  at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  3. Additional certifications: post graduate training is required
  4. Knowledge:  technical training in WASH & Education

  • Possess excellent communication skills (both written and spoken)
