LM International Sudan formerly known as International Aid Services (IAS) is a non-political and non-profit international relief and development organization founded in 1989 with the purpose of assisting people in need. LM International core sectors are Water Sanitation and Health (WASH), Civil Society Development (CSD), Food Security and Livelihood FSL and Inclusive Education (IE). The Finance Officer will enable the smooth operation of the finance activities, maintains records in overall management of financial resources, monitoring and financial controls. S/he will ensure that the LM International Sudan financial policies and procedures are implemented in a standardized manner and in true spirit.
Duties and responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting
Disburse of funds and verify the accuracy of the financial support documents for all financial transactions in accordance to policies and procedures
Perform daily Journal Entries into Accounting System and archiving all financial transactions into dedicated Google Drive Folder
Perform full set of accounts closing, Cash / Bank ledger, Medical accounts, Transfers etc
Prepare monthly Financial Statements (Balance Sheet, Trial Balance, Income Statement and Cash Flow Statement) and submitted to Khartoum office on a monthly basis.
Budget Planning and Management
Assist in Budget preparation and management for project activities;
Bank and Cash Reconciliation
Perform Weekly / Monthly cash and Bank reconciliations and ensure that all outstanding issues are cleared meticulously
Handle the Full bank function including Cheques, Transfers and Funds requests in conjunction with the Khartoum Office
Audits and Risk Management
Liaison with Khartoum office to ensure thorough accurate and timely internal / External audit process including responding to Audit recommendations
Perform spot finance check to local partners for all projects records/documents are accurate and clearly presented information within required timescales
Others
Ensuring confidentiality and professional integrity is upheld at all times;
Perform any other duties assigned by Management.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Essential
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance related Field
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in similar position; with at least 2 year of experience in INGOs or NGOs.
Fluency in "English and Arabic”
Proficient in computer applications such as Word and Excel;
Strong interpersonal skills and team player with the ability to build relationships with communities, staff and partners at all levels.
Able to work under pressure and with diverse cultures.
