 Duties and responsibilities:

Job Summary:  

You will help coordinate and ensure risk mitigation in inventory management through established inventory accounting and reporting processes in support of high-quality programs serving the poor and vulnerable. Your knowledge and experience will allow you to ensure compliance with CRS and donor regulations, and international and local supply chain accountability standards and requirements, as you apply the principles of stewardship, integrity, transparency, and accountability.

 

Roles and Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate with the Project team to arrange the timely receipt, dispatch, and delivery of goods to extended distribution points.
  •  Maintain up-to-date information on the status of the movement of goods. 
  • Help coordinate receipt (offloading, checking, and verifying quantities/weight and quality) and Distribution; and ensure verification, preparation, and maintenance of accurate, complete, and up-to-date documentation on all goods received and distributed. 
  • Provide support in damage and/or loss handling of goods to ensure proper documentation and Timely notification to relevant stakeholder 
  • File and distribute documents as required and assist with the preparation of reports related to goods movements, distribution, damage, or loss
  • Maintain up-to-date records of Received and distributed Goods on the ERP system in alignment with the Agency Inventory & recording policies and procedures 
  • Monitor, review, and analyze inventory accounting records and data entries in the inventory tracking and management information system for accuracy and completeness. Report accounting discrepancies and irregularities. 
  • Work in close coordination with relevant program and supply chain staff to resolve issues and reconcile inventory with accounting records. 
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and yearly reports pertaining to the status of goods and beneficiaries for internal and external project stakeholders. 
  • Compile and prepare the monthly reconciliation reports 
  • Complete the monthly Commodity Status reports (CSR).

Send the monthly received waybills and summary to finance 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Basic Qualifications 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Statistics, Economics, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years work experience in a similar position, preferably in an international organization. 
  • Additional education may substitute for some experience. 
  • Knowledge and experience with various public donors’ regulations. 
  • Knowledge and understanding of inventory tracking, accounting, and reporting systems and principles.

 

Required Languages – English and Arabic.  

 

Travel - include percentage of required travel, if applicable. Could be stated as Must be willing and able to travel up to 50 %. 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities  

  • Very good analytical skills with ability to detect and report inconsistencies 
  • Conscientious, accurate and thorough with great attention to detail 
  • Ethical conduct in accordance with recognized professional and organizational codes of ethics 
  • Proactive, resourceful, solutions-oriented and results-oriented 

 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Professional certifications(s) in supply chain a plus. 
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Commodity Accountability Principles (GACAP) preferred. 
  • Proficient in MS Office package (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio). Experience with inventory accounting software and/or other database management systems (e.g. MS Access) highly desirable. 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None  

 

Key Working Relationships:  

Internal: Distribution team, Commodity Operations SPO, Commodity Operations Manager

External: Program Managers, service providing agencies, Consortium members and other stakeholders
