Duties and responsibilities:
- Lead in profiling and assessing WASH infrastructure in project locations in partnership with SWS and identification of new and existing WASH facilities for construction/ upgrading. WASH facilities may include but not limited to: Hand pumps, Haffirs, Boreholes, earth dams and terraces.
- Developing quality and technical drawings & design, BoQs, guidelines, implementation strategies related to water supply and sanitation technologies as & when required,
- Designing and conducting trainings regarding operation and maintenance of water supply and sanitation facilities for the target group and Water Management Committees,
- Develop and maintain good relationships and lines of communication with relevant local authorities and communities including State Water Corporation, Rural Water Administration as well as Water and Environmental Sanitation department,
- Design and implement Cash for work schemes for rehabilitation pf market infrastructures and basic services like water access points and other prioritized community natural resources
- Maintain close supervision of National Partners WASH activities, contracted companies to ensure that they apply appropriate and agreed work standards,
- In liaison with State Water Corporation, prepare feasibility studies/reports, borehole pumping tests analysis & reporting as well as completion certificates and handing over notes,
- Verify and Validate the progress and quality of work of the contractors or companies and liaise with the operations and finance departments to ensure their payments are done well on time,
- Regular visits to field areas to supervise all WASH infrastructure activities and ensuring quality (minimum WHH standards) of all WASH infrastructures,
- Represent Welthungerhilfe in WASH sector coordination meetings in the various localities the project is operating,
- Engage in procurement of WASH related materials, equipment, services, tools according to WHH Procurement standard. and coordination with Logistics and finance departments.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor or Graduate degree in Civil or Water Engineering.
- At least 3 years’ experience in Water Infrastructures Constructions in remote communities in Sudan
- Vast knowledge and experience in management of large construction contracts in emergency and insecure environments
- Previous experience in designing WASH interventions, drawing BOQs and drafting construction related contracts.
- Good verbal and written English, communication, organizational, prioritization and negotiation skills.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in technical drawing software and Microsoft office applications including word, excel, Power point and other relevant applications.
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm as well as a willingness to learn and to be continually adaptive within a dynamic and often self-directed working environment.
- Excellent teamwork abilities, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
- Strong organizational and report-writing skills.
- Good knowledge and experience of Red Sea state and local context is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applying Do No harm frameworks concepts and approaches in high-risk security areas is an advantage.
