Background: General Objective: Reporting to Deputy Head of Project the Agriculture Field Officer will supporting implementation for projects 1230 activities according to the specified deadlines and organizational, contractual, and financial directives. He /She will be responsible for carrying out procurement activities, implementing technical measures and / or implementing social components within the framework of project assignment.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Planning and implementation of all FSL activities, while liaising with the implementing Line Ministries and other relevant stakeholders
- Develop Agricultural activity plans, ensuring demonstrated quality of the project implemented
- Carry out Agr.- inputs demand aggregation and Agr. inputs willingness to pay assessments among the selected farming communities, design and implement smart subsidy projects including voucher systems and input fairs for the vulnerable farmers/pastoralists.
- select and register small holder farmer and pastoralist into associations and organize related trainings for improved productivity and profitability of selected value chains
- Take lead in implementation of activities to improve animal health and productivity, including but not limited to establishment of Community Animal Health workers (CAHWs), last mile veterinary distribution points as well as animal vaccination campaigns and community animal surveillance systems
- Take lead in profiling community Natural Resources as well as establishment and strengthening of community natural resources management communities
- Work closely with the MEAL officer to capture and document learning and success stories design and utilize tools that help to measure output, outcome and impact of all activities
- Contributing to weekly, monthly and interim reports regarding Agriculture activities
- Liaising with the government line ministry on project implementation
- Participating in strategic planning meetings with stakeholders at locality level
- Any other task as assigned by supervisor or Head of Project in line with the duties of the job

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture , Natural Resources Management or or any relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience working with INGOs and small holder farmers/ pastoralists groups
- Experience in Agriculture/livelihoods projects and resilience is an added advantage
- Good verbal and written English, communication, organizational, prioritization and negotiation skills.
- Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft office applications including word, excel, Power point and other relevant applications.
- Demonstrated flexibility, creativity and enthusiasm as well as a willingness to learn and to be continually adaptive within a dynamic and often self-directed working environment.
- Excellent teamwork abilities, interpersonal and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
- Willingness to spend much time in the field and work closely with program target groups.
- Strong organizational and report-writing skills.
- Good knowledge and experience of Red Sea state and local context is preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of applying Do No harm frameworks concepts and approaches in high-risk security areas is an advantage.
