The IRC was present in Sudan from 1981 to 2009. In November 2019, the IRC re-registered in Sudan and opened a main office in Khartoum, with programming beginning in 2020. It is currently operational in Al Jazeera, White Nile, Gadaref, and Blue Nile states, including a satellite office in Tunaydbah (Gedaref). The IRC’s impact groups are vulnerable individuals impacted by conflict and crisis, including women, children, the elderly, persons with disabilities, refugees, mixed populations, and host communities.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all cash payments are fully supported and are authorized at set limits as per IRC Sudan delineation chart before disbursement.
  • Prepare the Invoice Journal and payment journal and submit to workflow for approval and ensure the same are posted into integra system after approval.
  • Manage integra data entry for accounts payable and accounts receivable by ensuring the information is accurate and the correct financial dimensions are used before processing. 
  • Monitor and track all vendor invoices submitted to Finance and ensure they meet the 3-way match before processing the invoice journal. Ensure that the vendor invoices are processed in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for preparation of Journal for all cash received or deposited into bank account and submit to the workflow for approval.
  • Ensuring that vendors payments journals are settled in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for preparation of bank reconciliation statement on a weekly basis for field bank account and any discrepancies are brought to attention of Finance Officer or Finance Manager.
  • Maintain an organized and well documented Filing folder for invoice journals and payments journals in sequential filing system for easy retrieval and ensure that Invoice / Payment Journals are well supported with relevant original documentations.
  • Support in retrieval of documentation during the auditing and verification of financial documents as requested by Donor/auditors. 
  • Carrying out finance officer duties in his absence. 
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Diploma in Administration, Development Studies, Social Sciences, or a similar field.
  • 2 years of work experience in administration management
  • Experience working with NGO preferred.
  • Familiarity and experience with standard administrative functions in an INGO set up.
  • Basic understanding of payment processing and reconciliations within an INGO set up.
  • Ability to respond to multiple priorities in a timely manner, producing high-quality outcomes.
  • A positive thinker with strong leadership, motivational and team building skills.
  • Good collaborator and influencer with effective interpersonal and analytical skills who work seamlessly across cultures, organizational units and suppliers.
  • Able to work effectively in a highly matrixed structure
