Driver

 Duty Station: Kassala , Northern state and Red Sea state
 Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
 Closing Date: 14 August 2024

 
 Background:

  1. Driving
    1. Drive vehicle for official travel and business, or as requested by the Program Coordinator.
    2. Maintain high standard of service to both internal and external guests.
    3. Ensure punctuality and safe transport.
    4. Observing the road and traffic laws and regulations.
  2. Car security and maintenance 
    1. Ensure that vehicle is kept clean, tidy and in a good working condition at all times.
    2. Ensure that vehicle is kept secure at all times.
    3. Ensure that vehicle is given regular/day-to-day maintenance checks: check oil, water, battery, brakes, tyre, etc.
    4. Ensure that vehicle repairs are carried out by official manufacturers’ specifications.
    5. Perform minor repairs and arrange for other repairs.
    6. Assist the Admin Officer to ensure vehicle insurance and license are updated. 
  3. Car logbook maintenance
    1. Log official trips, daily mileage, fuel consumption, oil changes, etc.


 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Qualifications

  • High school certificate.
  • Valid driving license.
  • Holder of qualification in vehicle maintenance and repairs.

Knowledge about/of

  • Understanding of transportation law.
  • Car mechanics.
  • Location of NGOs, CBOs, ministries, hotels and restaurants.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as driver with good driving record.

Skills in

  • Excellent driving.
  • Good communication.

Working Abilities

  • Being well-organized and systematic.
  • Careful, accountable, responsible and punctual.
  • Honest and approachable.
