Background: The Field Officer will assist SRCS Kassala State Branch with the implementation of Enhancing Food Security of Rural Communities including coordination, training and PMER of the project activities implemented in Aroma Locality in Kassala state with a particular focus on managing and motivating volunteers. The Field Officer will have overall responsibility of managing Strengthening Local Communities Resilience to Climate Change Programme including implementation, monitoring and reporting. The Field Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Project Manager in close coordination and collaboration with the relevant project team at SRCS branch level. In addition, the Field Officer is required to assist SRCS in maintaining close coordination with relevant authorities and other stakeholders at state level.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Coordination of project activities
- Contribute in maintaining project implementation on track and monitoring progress of the project, and the project partners’ role at field level.
- Motivating and managing project volunteers during the course of the project implementation.
- Participate in development of partnerships with local stakeholders to facilitate delivery of field level activities.
- Ensure safe, dignifying and quality service delivery for target communities.
- Liaison between stakeholders, to ensure they are informed and engaged
- Facilitating dialogue between stakeholders at field level through meetings and individual interviews.
- Promote and support networking initiatives for stakeholders and actors at field level.
- Contribute in supporting capacity development of the project stakeholders to grantee informed and effective involvement of the stakeholders.
- Technical support to project volunteers
- Contributing to capacity building and development of the project volunteers in PSS, delivery of dignified services etc. to secure quality delivery of the project activities.
- Participate in conducting, facilitating or co-facilitating training workshops for the project volunteers.
- Mentoring and coaching the project volunteers in order to achieve the ultimate goal of the project, as required, including supporting caring for volunteers roll-out.
- Project monitoring and evaluation
- Contribute in setting up and maintaining monitoring systems and reporting formats.
- Receiving and reviewing project progress reports submitted by the project volunteers.
- Monitor day-to-day implementation of the project activities and discuss emerging issues and problems with stakeholders in the field.
- Contributing in baseline and/or end line assessments, review, lessons learnt workshop of the project.
- Prepare for and participate in regular progress planning meetings with the line manager, and at other staff meetings as appropriate.
- Organize and conduct one-to-one progress and planning meetings with the project volunteers.
- Coordination of project reporting processes
- Submitting monthly progress reports of the project implementation to the project officer
- Delivering feedback to other project stakeholders at field level.

- Contribute in development of new funding proposals and extended project proposals.
- Participate in and contribute to SRCS, Northern State annual planning process.
- Where appropriate, attend internal/external meetings and workshops relevant to the project work as agreed with Line Manger.
- Undertake any other tasks in agreement with the line manager.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Qualifications - University degree, Bachelor degree in social science, Natural Resource Management (NRM) or technical background – agriculture of Forestry or Water and Livelihood or equivalent specialized certification.
Experience of - Previous working experience, minimum 2 years working with communities in Humanitarian organization, NGO’s / Government or RC/RC movement set-up
- Previous experience of working in EU / ECHO Programs and working with the Delegates.
- Adequate IT skills and to work smoothly in online TEAMS etc
Skills in - Reporting in EU formats
- Submit weekly reports, photo video documentations on field visits.
- Computer skills including word processing and advanced Excel skills and working in Microsoft TEAMS
Working Abilities - Work as part of a team in a supportive way.
- Work under pressure and to strict deadlines.
- Willing to travel to fields, support the EU Consortium Coordinator in PEUD Program related works, and field visits
Attitudes - Willing to work long and irregular hours and on public holidays as required.
- Commitment to the fundamental principles of RC/RC movement and to the mission of Sudanese Red Crescent Society.
