Project Background:

DT Global is recruiting for project positions for a 38-month USAID-funded program in Sudan called STEP-UP Sudan. The project is focused on strengthening citizen engagement around shared, democratic values. The program aims to build the capacity of civil society organizations, support social institution building, and strengthen strategic communications and public information/outreach in order to improve citizens’ access to timely and accurate information.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Under supervision of HR Manager, manage the day-to-day administration of the recruitment process, including sourcing, testing, interview scheduling, and document collection.
  • Conduct reference checks, verify education documents and collect other relevant information. 
  • Ensure the proper documentation of the recruitment process. Once recruitment is completed, open file for the respective employee and ensure all records are properly collected and filed electronically and in hard copy per policies and local laws 
  • Support drafting contracts for new employees with DT Global for review by supervisor and approval by DT Global project leadership. Ensure that all documentation is properly collected and filed upon contract signature in soft and hard copies per DT Global policies and local laws.
  • Assist with the coordination of the onboarding process for new employees.
  • Assist with tracking of leave requests, contract amendments, and other necessary documents. 
  •  Answer HR inquires when appropriate. 
  •  Prepare amendments to employment agreements. 
  •  In coordination with finance department, ensure that all tax returns are remitted to the local authorities as per local law.
  •  Support the HR Manager in implementing the overall performance management cycle. 
  • Send the monthly timesheet submission reminder and timesheets copies to all employees. Receive all the timesheets and check for accuracy, and submit for payment 
  • Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and brief key program staff in new requirements; Liaise with other organizations regarding current HR issues and concerns.
  • Responsible of preparing the monthly payroll and submitting it to Finance for salary payments. 
  • Support the HR Manager in carrying out the HRMS.
  • Support the HR Manager in executing both the performance management cycle and the talent development cycle that includes trainings. 
  • Provide HR induction to new joiners.  
  • Responsible for updating the DT Global SharePoint by uploading the necessary employee documents in the share-point and ensuring all employee files in the share-point are up to date. 
  • This role will work closely with the psycho-social support consultant in facilitating all the psycho-social support sessions as part of employee duty of care. 
  • Following up with the staff in completing the mandatory LMS trainings. 
  • Potentially travel to project’s areas of operation if needed
  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years of previous experience in a professional human resources role, including at least a year with an International Implementing Partner or Non-Governmental Organization 
  • Prior experience working with on USAID funded projects preferred 
  • Strong working knowledge of Sudanese Labor Laws 
  • Experience in liaising with other organizations and government officials 
  • IT literate, with good report writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications 
  • Demonstrated HR administration, planning, and communication skills 
  • Effective written and oral communication as well as interpersonal skills 
  •  Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills and good judgement 
  • Flexible, creative, and prepared to work effectively to meet deadlines in a demanding work environment. 
  • Possess demonstrated leadership skills, humility, and self -awareness. 
  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Arabic. 

 

This position is reporting to the HR Manager
