Duties and responsibilities:
SUMMARY: As a Clinical Psychologist, you will serve as a key member of our mental health team, providing comprehensive psychological assessment, diagnosis, and treatment services to individuals experiencing mental health issues, emotional difficulties, and behavioral challenges. Your role will involve utilizing your expertise in psychological theory, assessment tools, and therapeutic interventions to address a wide range of mental health concerns and promote emotional well-being. As part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, social workers, and primary care physicians, to ensure coordinated care and holistic treatment approaches. Your responsibilities will also include maintaining accurate clinical documentation, adhering to ethical and professional standards of practice, and participating in ongoing professional development activities to enhance your clinical skills and knowledge. Your role will include participating in the planning, supervision and coordination of mental health / psychosocial related services in the program in accordance with RI/WHO/MOH standards. This role will be supervised by GBV and Protection Manager. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Roles & Responsibilities: - Participate in the planning, organization and coordination of Mental Health activities, in close collaboration with the medical and protection team members and maintaining high levels of quality in RI’s Mental Health programs.
- Supervise the daily mental health activities and patient support according to WHO/MOH/RI protocols and standards in order to provide the most appropriate support for clients with psycho social needs
- When needed, give psychological support to patients according to MOH/ ethical guidelines and professional protocols to improve mental health conditions of patients and enhance their functionality
- Conduct thorough initial assessments to gather relevant information about clients' presenting issues, mental health history, and psychosocial functioning.
- Utilize standardized assessment tools and diagnostic criteria to formulate accurate clinical diagnoses and develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each client's unique needs.
- Provide evidence-based psychotherapy services to clients aimed at addressing underlying psychological issues, improving coping skills, and enhancing overall psychological well-being.
- Monitor and evaluate client progress regularly, adjusting treatment strategies as needed to ensure optimal therapeutic outcomes and client satisfaction.
- Offer immediate crisis intervention and support to clients experiencing acute psychological distress, suicidal ideation, or other mental health emergencies including referrals to appropriate resources eg psychiatric services and community-based crisis support services.
- Work collaboratively with other members of the mental health team, including psychiatrists, social workers, psychiatric nurses, and primary care physicians, to coordinate care and develop integrated treatment plans for clients with complex needs including referrals.
- Participate in case conferences, treatment planning meetings, and multidisciplinary consultations to ensure continuity of care and holistic approaches to client management.
- Maintain accurate and confidential clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and assessment reports, in accordance with professional standards and legal requirements.
- Compile the data and statistics linked to MH activities and report to the Project Manager, Protection and health Technical Coordinators
- Provide clinical counselling supervision to mental health facilitators/counsellors.
- Ensure the patient’s related information is kept confidential
Representation/coordination with external actors - Represent RI at sector working groups, coordination meetings as well during other stakeholder meetings (if relevant), and maintain a positive, continuous and visible presence for RI.
- Ensure RI’s mandate is shared and explained to relevant stakeholders.
- Pro-actively liaise and build rapport with local officials, community representatives, UN agencies, and any other relevant stakeholders.
- Attend coordination meetings including the MH TWG meetings, physically in the state.
Logistics - Liaise, as necessary, with the programs, procurement and supply chain, logistics and finance staff to ensure mental health related items are procured, transported, stored, managed and accounted for correctly.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Qualifications and Experience: - Degree in Clinical Psychology, Counselling Psychology or any related field from a recognized institution
- Registration/license by relevant regulatory authority/body
- Demonstrated clinical experience and expertise in conducting psychological assessments, diagnosing mental health disorders, and providing evidence-based psychotherapy interventions.
- Over three years of experience in Mental Health and wellbeing, counselling and testing, preferably in a PHCC setting and above.
- Ability to plan, organize, prioritize and work both collaboratively and independently to meet deadlines.
- Confidentiality and integrity in the profession

- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment and communicate professionally with clients, families, and colleagues.
