Finance and Administration Officer/Consultant

Muslim Aid is a faith-based British international charity that provides help to people who are victims of natural disasters, conflict or suffering from poverty, hunger, disease and illiteracy. It was established in the United Kingdom in 1985 in response to the drought in the Horn of Africa. Muslim Aid's Sudan Country office (MASCO) was set up in 1991 in response to the strategic need and to enable the continuation of effective aid work in the country. Currently, Muslim Aid is implementing projects in Kassala, Central Darfur and Red Sea State , Algazieera State , Gdarief State in Sudan.

 Background:

The FAA will support the implementation of WFP-funded nutrition project in Omdurman.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Review project budget versus Actuals (BVAs).
  • Manage all project financial transactions.
  • prepare project financial reports. 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • S/he must have a BSC/BA degree in finance and accountancy.
  • She or he must have at least 7 years of experience in supporting the implementation of projects in Sudan. 
  • S/he must have at least 5 years experiences working as a finance/admin officer with UN-agencies or International NGOs.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in emergency context preferably in Sudan 
  • S/he must be familiar with WPF and other donor financial management systems.
  • S/he must at 5 years of experience in writing financial reports especially WFP reports. 
  • Must have an excellent command of English language.
  • Must have the skills to monitor or manage project finance and must be able to review project budget versus Actuals (BVAs).
  • Must have excellent supervisory and coaching skills. 
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in capacity building or training of staff.
  • Must have at least 3 years of experience in working with or coordinating with ministry of health, health and nutrition cluster and must be able to participate in all relevant meetings.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be living or willing to live in Omdurman.
  • Must have excellent, planning, organizing, and leadership skills. 
  • Must have the experience to manage personal and staff security and safety.
