 Background:

The Conflict Sensitivity Facility (CSF) provides technical analysis, services and advice in support of integrating conflict sensitive principles and practices into donor strategies and donor-funded programming in Sudan. Conflict sensitivity is a programming approach that emphasizes strong contextual analysis and programmatic flexibility to minimize aid’s negative consequences and maximize positive impacts. Conflict sensitivity is particularly important in volatile, conflict-affected contexts where inadequate understanding of conflict and political dynamics can lead to donors and implementing partners inadvertently exacerbating the conflict.

 

Background 

 

CSF currently is receiving increasing number of requests from the aid organizations to deliver training courses in Conflict Sensitivity and the Sudan Context course, and to that end aims to establish a roster of competent facilitators to deliver online and face to face in Sudan. The roster will be of two groups, online facilitators roster and in-person facilitators roster of at least three people each.

A CSF training course is always cofacilitated and as far as possible should have one facilitator from the CSF KRT team and one training consultant. The Capacity Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the continuous improvement and tailoring of course material to suit specific training needs of requesting organizations.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the facilitator

The Facilitator is expected to: - 

  • Prepare for the training s/he will be delivering in liaison with the CDM,
  • Deliver the training and collect the participation list and assessment forms to hand them to the CDM. 
  • Ensuring survey monkey link was sent out if online and if training is delivered in person that paper surveys are completed in the applicable language by participants and the completed surveys handed to the CSF admin assistant for data input
  • S/he also is expected to submit a brief report or reflect about the training conducted, bearing in mind that the facilitator may deliver the training alone or with another CSF facilitator.

Requirements and Competence

  • Strong Arabic and English communication skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Power Point, and web-based platforms
  • Can be available for short-term assignments 
  • Has the competence to facilitate the trainings using experimental practice and active learning activities 
  • Has an acceptable level of expertise in CSF area of specialization
  • Strong analytical skills 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Qualification

  • Educational level: BSc in any relevant field to the CSF priorities 
  • At least 5 years of relevel professional experience
  • Has great knowledge of humanitarian aid work in Sudan
