Saferworld is an independent international organisation working to prevent violent conflict and build safer lives. We work with people affected by conflict to improve their safety and sense of security, and conduct wider research and analysis. We use this evidence and learning to improve local, national and international policies and practices that can help build lasting peace. Our priority is people – we believe in a world where everyone can lead peaceful, fulfilling lives, free from fear and insecurity. We work in 12 countries across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Background: The Conflict Sensitivity Facility (CSF) provides technical analysis, services and advice in support of integrating conflict sensitive principles and practices into donor strategies and donor-funded programming in Sudan. Conflict sensitivity is a programming approach that emphasizes strong contextual analysis and programmatic flexibility to minimize aid’s negative consequences and maximize positive impacts. Conflict sensitivity is particularly important in volatile, conflict-affected contexts where inadequate understanding of conflict and political dynamics can lead to donors and implementing partners inadvertently exacerbating the conflict.
Background
CSF currently is receiving increasing number of requests from the aid organizations to deliver training courses in Conflict Sensitivity and the Sudan Context course, and to that end aims to establish a roster of competent facilitators to deliver online and face to face in Sudan. The roster will be of two groups, online facilitators roster and in-person facilitators roster of at least three people each. A CSF training course is always cofacilitated and as far as possible should have one facilitator from the CSF KRT team and one training consultant. The Capacity Development Manager is responsible for overseeing the continuous improvement and tailoring of course material to suit specific training needs of requesting organizations. |
