 Background:

Child development Foundation (CDF) is a Sudanese national NGO established and registered in 1999 under the act of humanitarian aid commission (HAC). It mainly works in the field of child protection and child rights. CDF targets male and female children as a main focus groups, who are at risk and vulnerable (street children, child labor, child soldier, war and conflict child, displaced, school dropout, orphans, refugees, etc.). CDF also targets other people of concerns such as children's families, pregnant and lactating women, women and PSNs.

 

The CP Officer Under the supervision of Program Coordinator the Child Protection is responsible implementation of the CDF the Child Safeguarding , Child Protection Policy and for the day-to-day all CP plan of implementation of the various protection activities in the field locations under her/his responsibility. Main responsibility is to plan activities, supervise, implement, and monitor the impact of activities taking place in Child Friendly Spaces, Adolescent Girl Friendly Spaces and other MHPSS activities , will be working in close coordination with the CP teams(CP Assistant, Social Workers, Supervisors of Mobile teams) including MHPSS, Adolescents / SLS Officer and Education officer, S/he will assist in the continuation of child protection interventions in Geneina & Jable Moon locality at West Darfur State level, with a focus with IDPs, returnees and hos community by addressing the need of children who are affected by the conflict and deliver quality services of child protection in emergency Including unaccompanied children and children who have experienced or are vulnerable to abuse, exploitation, neglect, and violence.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Carry out implementation of the child protection activities as per the work plan while always observing the best practice and CDF policy.
  • Work closely with case management, education activities program to integrate child protection with school systems and other programs to maximize impact for school retention and a quality learning environment.
  • Provide technical input and deliver (or support the delivery of) activities in the area of child and family-focused protection, psychosocial support, community child protection mechanisms, and child protection monitoring and ensure that Child Protection programs are closely linked with other sectors, particularly education.
  • Ensure that project activities are implemented in a manner that benefits the affected population, and meets the donor obligations and CDF policy, procedures, rules and regulations as well as governmental regulations; Ensure that comprehensive service mapping and referral pathways are developed and up to date in each of the project locations and schools and is well coordinated with other actors and reviewed on regular basis.
  • Together with the Education Officer, MHPSS specialist ,(CP assistants or community mobilizers) and the programme Coordinator, develop detailed work plans and conduct regular progress reviews with the Child Protection team to ensure the project is implemented as per agreed work plans, and also ensure that the two teams complement each other, that the referral mechanisms and data management work of at-risk children are managed in a quality manner and the needs identified are responded to appropriate
  • Coordinate and contribute to a community-based child protection system, make sure that a clear ToR is developed, updated and followed, and that the CBCPC groups are receiving appropriate capacity building, support and coaching
  • Support conducts psychosocial support activities according to CPMS and appropriate epidemic and pandemic mitigation measures.
  • Provide Establish of Mobile CFSs in Jabal Moon and Geneina and ensure continuation and operationalization of services. 4 Social worker to be 
  • Participate in the recruited of animators and community volunteers from local community for mobile teams.
  • Proactively identify new or emerging needs, gaps, and opportunities including documentation of practices (good and bad) regarding child protection intervention to enhance the safety.
  • Work with the social workers and animators to create trainings target at building the capacity and understanding on PSS and provide assessments to ensure CP activates meet the Minimum Standards for Child and Mobile CFSs.
  • Ensure Provide psychosocial support to girls and boys affected by the crisis, equipping them with essential skills to cope with trauma, through counseling and other interventions in the structured learning programmes at schools.
  • Support access to services for Children on the Move and unaccompanied and separated children.
  • Provide MRM reporting and work on generating UNCEF standard SOPs and ensure report and respond to grave child rights violations in accordance with the Children and Armed Conflict
  • Addresses the practical gender needs of the internally displaced children. FTR, case management, referral will be provided for both girls and boys without discrimination. 
  • Identified and supported the establishment of a Community Feedback Mechanism of (AAP, PSEA) and relevant reporting mechanism on the ground.
  • Ensure the availability of timely updates of referral pathways to provide immediate aid for complainants and survivors
  • Contribute and Support the implementation of outreach and awareness sessions for affected populations and beneficiaries in the field
  • Represent the CDF in the West Darfur working group (CP, MRM, and GBV & PGW) as may be required by the supervisor.
  • Fulfill any other assignment by direct supervisor

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting

  • Prepare Monthly, quarterly and annual Program progress reports.
  • Prepare and send requirement of CP 5 W 
  • Contribute to the donor report compilation
  • Mentor, and report on the performance of Child protection teams of Social Workers workers within the project.
  • Support the Manager in the development and implementation of project procurement plans, cash projections, and spending plans.
  • Identify and enroll for capacity enhancement training, and mentorship sessions to improve the quality of delivery.

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • BA or equivalent in social work, human rights, or related degree desired with at least 3 years of experience in implementing child protection programs, preferably social work, or case management, in humanitarian settings. Experience in start-up programming preferred.
  • Experience and understanding of child rights, child protection in emergencies, and SLS Programme, youth development, child and youth resilience and empowerment
  • Experience working with IDPs, and vulnerable groups of people preferred
  • Understanding and sensitivity to the needs of people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures
  • Good computer skills such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and outlook
  • Capable of applying skills and knowledge in a range of capacities, including direct implementation, coordination function, training, and the transfer of technical knowledge
  • Personal qualities: Team player, flexible, network-builder, able to handle pressure well
  • Fluency in English required, working knowledge of relevant local languages desirable
