 Background:

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), an impartial, neutral, and independent organisation striving to protect and assist the victims of war and internal violence, has been working in Sudan since 1978. The ICRC is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to fill the position of Cook in Port Sudan

 

Purpose:

 

The Cook provides quality and timely cooking services at the ICRC premises.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

  • Prepares meals (strictly respecting hygiene principles), with minimum food waste 
  • Orders/purchases and manages stocks of food and non-food (e.g. cooking gas, etc).
  • Ensures cooking equipment is in good condition (safe for use) and that the kitchen and canteen/dining hall are cleaned after each use (respecting hygiene rules).
  • Informs her hierarchical superior of any problems (broken/faulty material, etc.).
  • Manages expenses related to food under close supervision of her superior

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Sudanese nationality.
  • Primary school education.
  • Basic knowledge of english.
  • Similar work expereinces.
  • Knowledge of basic hygenie principles.
