Background:
The project "Women’s Economic Empowerment in Eastern Sudan (WEE)" targets to strengthen the socio-economic participation of refugees and residents of the host communities, especially women, in Eastern Sudan. It promotes gender-sensitive, employment-oriented education and training programmes, needs-based services such as life skills training and psychosocial support services. The project also empowers local women's organizations to better represent their interests.
Duties and responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Responsible for output 2 activities in facilitating women from refugee and host communities to have access to selected needs-based social services
Building-up personal and institutional capacities of partner organisations and fostering their willingness to develop and upgrade their performance
Establishing and maintaining of cooperation with project partners, such as regional authorities with responsibilities for refugees, women and vocational education and training centers, community leaders of refugee communities and host communities
Identifying possible partners to support the implementation of the GIZ-activities, steering and monitoring of the implementation of these partners, based on contracts and Grant agreements
Supporting project planning and the conceptual development, including preparation, organisation and facilitation of planning exercises and their implementation, management, monitoring, evaluation, communication, and documentation
Support and follow up on multi-stakeholder meetings and activities in Eastern Sudan (by taking minutes)
Performing of other duties, as requested by the management
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelors’ degree and one year work experience in the areas women’s economic empowerment or peace building and vocational training or support of social cohesion
Proven experience managing service providers in Sudan based on network of contacts
Good computer skills (primarily MS Office applications)
Knowledge of the context in rural (East) Sudan
Experience in complex emergencies and the ability to live and work in a very remote area
Can work under pressure and without daily supervision
Ready to take over responsibility for tasks assigned and carry them out and report on results independently
Good team worker, player and communicator and can coordinate suppliers and contractors effectively
Ability to work professionally in an international context according to international standards and trustful in handling (confidential) data and information
Fluent in Arabic and English (both in speaking and writing).
