 Background:

DT Global (DTG) is an implementing partner for USAID Project – Toward Enduring Peace in Sudan (TEPS). DT Global seeks qualified candidates candidates to apply for the following position:



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The Regional Grants Officer (RGO) will support the timely and accurate implementation and support to grant development. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following

 

•      Consistent collaboration with the Regional Team Leader, Monitoring and Evaluation officer,, and Senior Grants Specialist on program-related issues such as grant development, context analysis as well as reporting, grant monitoring and evaluation.

•      Ensure that all reports are properly written and submitted as per the milestones of the grant, ensure  direct grantee communication is held in regard to the progress of the activities and submission of progress reports as per milestones

•      Liaise with local partners, community representatives, NGOs, Donors, etc, to ensure coordinated and effective program implementation and ensure the proposed budget costs are  verified with the current market price before finalizing the grant budgets

•      Provide technical expertise in the grant development process to all regions, as assigned by the supervisor, by following the grant development cycle including,- Grant Activity “ideas”, proposals, and budgets and drafting and implementing the monitoring and evaluation plans for each idea or activity

•      Ensure that baseline information is collected (GPS, photographs, etc) and provided to the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Officer for further production and circulation as per when required with full participation to ensure that the data is productive for reporting purposes

•      Ensure that proper documentation is signed by grantees in close coordination with the RTL, Senior Grants Specialist and other responsible staff (Agreements, waybills, Completion Certificates, Transfer of ownership, etc) and submitted to the GS in a timely manner

•      Manages the grant evaluation process in the field in close coordination with the M&E Officer and RTL

•      Working with grantees, RTL, and with the support of the operations team to ensure that all permits and/or authorizations that may be necessary to implement the activity are granted in the shortest possible timeframe

•      Assist the grantees with the preparation of accurate Final Reports, final grant evaluation and other grants documented as required

•      In coordination with the RTL and the senior management staff, meditate/solve any conflicts during the development/implementation of the grant activity

•      In close coordination with the Senior Grants Specialist and program team, ensure that the grants files are properly completed and maintained in both soft and electronic versions

•      Where applicable assist the RTL in maintaining the DT-Global El-Fula  office; provide timely updates, on office operations

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

 

•      A Bachelor’s degree in international development or related field with 5 years of professional experience is required;

•      Proven experience working in complex, insecure, and challenging field operational contexts is required;

•      Proven experience working on donor-funded programs and/or with international development organizations; it is highly desirable that this includes experience in community resilience, civic engagement, public consultations, and countering violent extremism programming;

•      Proven experience working on programs requiring community-level engagement, particularly with civil society organizations;

•      Proven experience with grant development, implementation, and management required;

•      In-depth knowledge of the communities where TEPS is operating and the ability to identify potential interventions that will contribute toward program strategy and objectives;

•      Ability to network and identify appropriate local partners and grantees and support reform-oriented entities and local and international organizations design and develop activities.

•      Excellent written and communication skills, with demonstrated ability to draft well-written and succinct reports;

•      Ability to oversee and coordinate the financial and administrative management of program activities including budget management and procurement.

•      Demonstrated oral and written fluency in Arabic and English is required; a written and oral test will be administered to assess English capabilities; 

•      Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office, including Access and Excel, and web-based information management tools required;
