 Duties and responsibilities:

Job Summary: 

You will manage, coordinate, and monitor project activities including volunteers’ activities and relationships with partners and other project stakeholders to assist the achievement of the Bina Aljusur Farmer-to-Farmer project’s objectives advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work serving the poor and vulnerable. You will be responsible for providing technical support, coordination and management support to the project implementation team ensuring effective systems and processes are in place to support high quality programing  advancing Catholic Relief Services’ (CRS) work in serving the poor and vulnerable.  Your project management skills and knowledge of the program area will ensure that the CP delivers high-quality programming and continuously works towards improving the impact of this project. 

 

Roles and Key Responsibilities:

  • You will lead technical, budget management, monitoring and reporting activities through most of the project cycle - start-up, implementation and close-out - in line with CRS program quality principles and standards, donor requirements, and good practices. 
  • Manage the relationship with the F2F host organizations and develop scopes of work for F2F volunteer assignments.
  • Effectively manage talent and supervise. Manage team dynamics and staff well-being. Provide coaching, strategically tailor individual development plans, and complete performance management for direct reports.  Complete performance management for direct reports.
  • Ensure learning properly accompanies project activities throughout the project cycle. Support accountability through coordinating project evaluation activities following MEAL Policy.  Facilitate the dissemination of promising practices and lessons learned to contribute to the agency knowledge management agenda. Ensure integration of innovations and best practices.
  • Proactively identify issues and concerns, report them to inform adjustments to plans and implementation schedules. 
  • Engage and strengthen partnerships relevant to F2F applying appropriate application of partnership concepts, tools and approaches.
  • As appropriate, represent the organization with USAID Mission in Sudan, USAID Implementing partners meetings, INGO working groups, relevant local partners and key US agricultural development stakeholders and other relevant stakeholders in both the US and Sudan.
  • Coordinate activities required for ensuring the financial, material and human resources for the quality implementation of the project. Conduct periodic budget reviews and as appropriate and needed. follow-up with partners on timely submission of financial reports to facilitate proper tracking of resource use.
  • Identify staff capacity needs and technical assistance needs of partner organizations and contribute to capacity strengthening and required interventions to support quality project implementation. 
  • Assist with preparation of trends analysis reports and disseminate results. Review project documentation to ensure project file is complete with all required documentation and is filed per agency and donor requirements.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Basic Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in International Relations or in the field of Agriculture, international development.
  • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in project management, ideally in the field agriculture/agribusiness, food security, nutrition, natural resource management, livestock development for an NGO.
  • Experience of supporting and managing volunteers is an added advantage
  • Additional experience may substitute for some education.

 

Required Languages – English and Arabic

 

Travel - Must be willing and able to travel up to 50 % of the time in-country

  • Critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills with ability to make sound judgment.
  • Strong relationship management skills and the ability to work effectively with local stakeholders. Representation abilities. Ability to relate to people at all levels internally and externally. Strategic in how you approach each relationship.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant grant management experience, especially for USG or other public donors, a plus .
  • Staff supervision experience.
  • Experience working with stakeholders at various levels and strengthening community partnerships.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of technical proposals, a plus.
  • Experience analyzing data and contributing to evaluation reports.
  • Experience using MS Windows and MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Key Working Relationships: 

  • Internal: F2F Chief of Party and F2F team, Head of Programs, Head of Operations, Senior Operations Manager, Security Manager, Finance Manager, ICT Manager, Supply Chain Manager, Head of Human Resources, programs and F2F Operations Specialist, and regional technical advisors.
  • External: National partner organizations, private sector partners, USAID Mission to Sudan, UN agencies, government authorities at different levels.
