Introduction to the Country Office:

Norwegian church Aid is in Sudan since 1972 and works in the fields of relief, rehabilitation, and development, and works through national partners.
NCA’s Country Office is currently in Port Sudan. It has a Field Office in Al-Gadarif, Al-Gadarif State, where its projects activities encompass GBV, Climate Resilient WASH, Climate Smart Economic Empowerment, and Health. As well, its projects activities in Kosti, White Nile State are implemented by the national partners

 Background:

The Finance Department is strengthening its capacity to ensure full compliance with NCA’s operational requirements, donor expectations, and accountability commitments, and we are looking to recruit a new Finance Manager for our Khartoum office

 

As a successful candidate, you have a solid understanding of financial management in an international NGO environment, including planning, budgeting, monitoring, compliance and control, staff management, and capacity building. You work well in a team, and can coordinate with various stakeholders including programme, other NCA Sudan offices, head office, donors, and partners. A proven track record and a minimum of 5years’ experience in a similar role would be required to ensure your success in this role.The Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of the programme in Khartoum and Kadugli offices and reports to the Head of Finance Sudan. The position relates to Programme teams, the HR/Admin Manager, the Procurement and Logistics team, and the Country Funding Manager on financial issues. The position is also responsible for preparation of the audits for Khartoum office projects and for implementing all R&G requirements as well as local routines and procedures. The Finance Manager is also responsible for competence and capacity building internally with finance staff and, where required, externally with partners’ financial management.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

Main responsibilities for this position: 

 

  1. Financial processes: Responsibility for financial processes, in accordance with NCA procedures and national legislation, in the Khartoum office,
  2. Planning and budgeting and monitoring: Support Head of Finance to ensure good quality and timely assistance to programme and grant staff in developing proposals and setting up new project. Provide reports and detailed and financial data in a timely manner to assist in decision making for project managers and the senior management team.
  3. Compliance: Develop and ensure that proper financial monitoring systems are in place, such that financial processes comply with NCA’s routines, guidelines, and multiple donor regulations.
  4. Manage Finance Team - Khartoum: Build up, develop, and ensure the capacity of our staff within finance and accounting. 
  5. Relationship with key stake holders: Develop excellent relationship with the key stakeholders, including other NCA Sudan sub-offices, Head Office, donors, programme staff, and partners.
