Background: On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-funded by the European Union, GIZ implements a project to promote employment in Darfur. The project aims at improving the livelihoods of the local population, internally displaced persons and refugees by enhancing both, the demand and supply side of the labour market. On the supply side, the project cooperates with the Supreme Council for Vocational Training and Apprenticeship (SCVTA) and its branches in El Fasher and Nyala, as well as with Technical Secondary Schools and Technical Colleges to offer demand-oriented short courses, enhance the skills of teachers and to align the curricula with current and future market demands.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Supporting the implementation of the project objectives as part of a multicultural team.
- Supporting with logistic and coordination related to planning and implementation of vocational training activities in Nyala.
- Assist communication with partners, beneficiaries and service providers, using different communication channels for reminders, activities schedules, and follow-up.
- Assist in M&E related tasks, e.g. data collection and data verification at the field level as well as ensure visibility of donors is used as required.
- Support the regular and periodic follow-up with beneficiaries before, during, and after the activities.
- Support communication by collecting success stories and photo documentation of the activities.
- Perform documents archiving in line with Data Protection standards
- Assist Admin & Finance department with follow-up on logistics and invoices at the office level.
- Participate in the team weekly meeting and send updates when needed.
2. learning Objectives: During the 6 months period of internship, the candidate will acquire following skills and competencies: - Develop his/her essential project management skills with a specific focus on planning, activities implementation and monitoring.
- Familiarise with working with partners at various levels as well as end beneficiaries incl. youth from refugees and displaced people segments.
- Strengthen communication skills as well as the basic application of M&E tools and techniques.
- Learn about basics of budgeting processes of the activities and financial procedures.
- Receive an insight into operational planning and coordinating implementation.
- Improve in drafting reports, articles and other written documents in English and Arabic
- Develop a routine in using MS Office applications, MS Teams, and KoBo toolbox.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Graduate university degree (at least Bachelor or equivalent) ideally with focus on technical education, project management, business, economics, development studies, or similar fields;
- Basic knowledge of youth employment context in Darfur as well as vocational training system in Sudan.
- Previous experience on working with partners and youth, preferably in coordinating activities – e.g. trainings and capacity improvement activities.
- Excellent English and Arabic communication skills (verbal and written)
- Basic knowledge of M&E tools and dealing with primary data is desirable.
- Understanding of cultural sensitivity and working with others effectively.
- Awareness of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and inclusion of people with disabilities and social disparities.
- Eagerness to learn and gradually assume more responsibility.
- Team player, proactive and eager to work within international team.
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office Apps, KoBo toolbox).
