Background:
Under the direct supervision of the Programme Coordinator, and technically reporting to the Education Technical Specialist, the Education officer will be responsible for the overall management and successful implementation of the Education Projects and programs West Kordofan. The Education officer is responsible for planning, implementing, monitoring and reporting of all project activities as per the project plan and organizational strategies, mission and vision. He/she will serve as a technical person in West Kordofan regards to education and will regularly attend the Education Cluster, partners, ministry of education following its strategy and stakeholders meeting. He/she will also be responsible for documenting project lessons and good practices
Duties and responsibilities:
Responsible for the direct project implementation
Responsible for the direct monitoring and evaluation of the activities in the field
Ensure active participation of children and other stakeholders in the project activities implementation
Ensure that the project is implemented in line with IAS and donor compliance procedures.
Participate in needs assessments and in developing project proposals
Participate in designing education policies and participate in monitoring education policies in the State
Ensure the project is implemented in line with IAS principles, values and strategic plan.
Attend education meetings with authorities, other organizations and stakeholders together with the local partner
Attend monthly meetings with project staff in the field or in Khartoum to discuss and approve the detailed planning sheet
Carryout capacity building of the local partner
Be innovative and propose actions aimed at promoting access to education and improvement of quality of education in West Darfur.
Represent IAS in sector coordinator meetings
Submit regular reports to the Education Coordinator and the Programme Coordinator
Perform any other duties as assigned by Management.
Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
