Finance Officer
ZOA International
 Workhours: 8 working hours per day , 40 working hours per week

 Background:

ZOA is an international non-governmental organisation with its head office in the Netherlands. ZOA has been working in Sudan since 2004. Its current focus is on post-conflict recovery and rehabilitation and ZOA operates programmes in North Darfur, East Darfur, South Darfur and Gedaref State, covering the sectors of food security and livelihoods & Economic Development,Integrated Water Resources Management and Education. 

 

PURPOSE of the POSITION:

The finance officer is responsible & accountable for day to day operations and financial transactions. He/She Will be responsible of ensuring that all ZOA documents are in compliance with the internal policies, auditors & donors requirements. 

 

The Finance officer will supports ZOA Organisation in the timely availability of reliable accounting data and contributes significantly to the safeguarding that all ZOA administrative procedures are being followed up. 

He/she will work in close consultation with the head of finance, operation manager,



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES/ ACTIVITIES:

  • Prepare bank & cash payments
  • Review documents & ensure that all zoa policies & procedures according to the Finance Manual and are in compliance with the auditors & donors requirements. 
  • Record of bank & cash transactions on logbook & ERP system.
  • Prepare, daily, weekly and monthly bank & cash reconciliations.
  • Ensure that all financial transactions are recorded in time.
  • Prepare monthly cash count.
  • Stamp the financial documents with paid stamp & donor stamp if required.
  • Filing of all financial transactions in an orderly and standardized way -Hard and Digital Filling.
  • Timely payment of Tax, Zakat and Social Insurance contributions;
  • Prepare of work advance, followed up the life cycle and make sure to be settled on time.
  • Support & cooperate with field staff.
  • Cooperate with the auditors and provide all the requested financial documents.
  • Any other responsibilities or tasks determined by the line manager.

 

AUTHORITY:

  • The Finance Officer is accountable to the Head of Finance and Director of Operations. He/she has a functional relationship with the Finance Team in the field.

  • Tax and Social Insurance departments, External Auditors, Banks

 

Internal contacts 

  • All Program and support staff, Country Finance & Operations Team

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Identity:

  • The candidate is expected to support the identity, vision, and mission of ZOA

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Proven working experience of 3 years in the relevant field;
  • Minimum education: Bachelor degree in Accounting;
  • Previous experience with  International NGO’s;
  • Fluent in Arabic in reading, writing and speaking;
  • Excellent knowledge of computers (accounting systems, Excel, Word).

 

SKILLS:

  • Accurate.
  • Ability to multi -task & prioritize task.
  • Good numerical skills;
  • Reliable Personality with good Communicative skills; 
  • Service oriented attitude but a hardliner when it comes to keeping up to ZOA polices and procedures;
