 Background:

In the framework of the project “Increasing the Dignity and Protection of Refugees and Migrants in Eastern Sudan” whose overall objective is “women and girl survivors of trafficking and/or SGBV have increased dignity and improved psychosocial wellbeing and community members have increased awareness and knowledge of trafficking and/or SGBV issues for women and girls along the migratory route in Eastern Sudan”.

The project Coordinator will be based in Kassala in order to coordinate the implementation of the activities in Kassala state in assistance of the project team. Regular monitoring visits to Northern State will be required. The project covers the sectors of Protection and PSS. 

 

 The Project Coordinator, in close collaboration with the Branch Programme Manager and DRC delegate will be responsible for efficient, effective and sustainable implementation of the SRCS/DRC funded by PPL and British Red Cross, in accordance with required quality standards, in order to address beneficiary needs.

All project activities are to be carried out through the established SRCS structures and will be based on the Fundamental principles, values and policies of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement.

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

The Project Coordinator will perform the following roles and responsibilities:

  • Ensure completion of SRCS/DRC project in the Kassala State in line with signed project documents, budget, logframe, and operation plan 
  • Supervise project activity implementation at field level. 
  • Ensure that project is implemented in accordance with the SRCS, DRC and donor policies and guidelines.
  • Undertake regular support and monitoring visits to project sites and participate in project events when required.
  • Ensure best practices and lesson learnt are documented.
  • Suggest new ideas for projects and interventions.
  • Ensure high quality and timely completion of regular progress reports and project final report as per prescribed templates and timetable
  • Provide report translation when required.
  • Ensure coordination with stakeholders in the North State or working in the target areas.
  • Maintain a strong, cooperation and collaborative relationship between SRCS/DRC and related agencies, ensuring regular coordination. 
  • Represent the project in relevant areas in Kassala state where required.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor in law, management, economics, social sciences or any other related field, Master degree or advanced education is preferable.
  • Good knowledge of English, both oral and written.
  • At least 2 years working in the development and/or the humanitarian sector.
  • The following experience would be highly advisable:
  • Coordination and partnership management.
  • Interpersonal communication and advocacy.
  • Negotiation.
  • Planning.
  • Coaching and mentoring.
  • Monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning.

       Personal competencies would have to be as well taken into account:

  • Good reporting skills.
  • Good knowledge of Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Capacity to learn fast.
  • Capacity to work in an autonomous way.
  • Active and proactive attitude.
