ROLE PURPOSE 

 

 

DIMENSIONS OF THE ROLE 

THIS position in the finance department report to Country Accountant. He/she responsible for a wide variety of finance-related tasks that are primarily associated with preparing financial records. These tasks oftentimes include organizing and maintaining financial records, and ensuring statements are accurate. He/ she work in collaboration with finance staff, other Departments and implementing partners. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

ACCOUNTABILITIES 

  1. Processes payment vouchers and journal vouchers through SAP and in accordance with the operational manual  
  2. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed 
  3. Process cost allocations in SAP to projects in line with Plan’s cost recovery guidelines  
  4. Review payroll and post payroll journals in SAP monthly before end of each month. 
  5. Follow up on all intercompany charges to ensure they are properly authorized and passed to relevant offices timely and facilitate real time data capturing of intercompany charges. 
  6. Maintain accurate accruals, payables and prepayments schedules and ensure timely allocation of costs to project. 
  7. Participate in partner assessments and assess conformity with Plan systems 
  8. Track cost recoveries in projects and timeously posting of journal entries in SAP and consolidate cost recovery reports. 
  9. Continuous monitoring of internal control processes and procedures. Ensure adherence to financial controls, processes and procedures 
  10. Ensure that entering financial data in SAP system and providing assistant Grants Budget Monitoring.

  • Government authority (Tax chamber, Zakat office and National social insurance office)  

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance and accounting 
  • At least 3 years of experience in accounting and finance  
  • Demonstrate intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge of Excel, as well as other Microsoft Office applications 
  • Experience with accounting software, preferable in SAP system 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate effectively across the organization 
  • Thorough knowledge of general ledger accounting and account reconciliation
