Background: role PURPOSEPlan International is an independent child rights and humanitarian organisation committed to children living a life free of poverty, violence and injustice. We support children to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to claim their rights to a fulfilling life, today and in the future. This role exists to support improvements in the quality of programme and project reporting, tracking of project performance, and ensuring that the required data is being collected and entered in reporting systems. Dimensions of the RoleThe Information Management and Programme Reporting Officer is a key position in the Programs Department, reporting to the MERL Manager. S/he is not a budget holder and has no direct supervision of any of staff. The position has high contact and coordination with project managers/coordinators and M&E coordinators/officers at field level and medium level of contacts with programme leads, PQM, BD team, sponsorship team, Gender specialist, and low contact with communities and relevant institutions.

Duties and responsibilities:
Accountabilities Programme information Management- Programme library creation and maintenance.
- Management of programme planning and monitoring tools; to ensure that all project planning and progress is entered in local and regional/ global hub systems.
- Documentation and reporting of programme and project outcomes on a regular basis.
- Packaging of programme learning from case studies, researches, reviews and evaluations.
- Participate in annual MERL activities, planning and tracking milestones for timely execution.
- Collaborate with project managers to document Most Significant Change Stories (MSC) and case studies.
- Participate in documentation of learning, evaluation and researches.
- Maintain and follow up regular update and of Plan International Sudan SharePoint (Sudan Team Site) and prepare monthly status reports.
Programme Reporting- Support project teams on entrenching internal project reporting per PQIP procedure.
- Support completion of internal projects reporting.
- Review and consolidate programme reporting, and share summary snapshot with OMT.
- Track Detailed Implementation Plans (DIPs) development and progress, and follow up with field offices.
- Monitor updating of progress logs and data upload for each project in PMERL system.
- Monitor project completion reporting and ensure that they are developed in time and of good quality.
- Review and format donor narrative, baseline and evaluation reports.
- Review, consolidate and document Child Friendly Feedback Mechanism Monthly & Quarterly Report.
Capacity building- Build capacities of staff and partners in the following:
- Reporting and writing skills.
- Capturing of MSC stories
Child Protection and Gender Equality and Inclusion- Ensure that Plan International’s global policies for Child Protection (CPP) and Gender Equality and Inclusion (GEI) are fully embedded in accordance with the principles and requirements of the policy including relevant Implementation Standards and Guidelines as applicable to their area of responsibility. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring staff and associates are aware of and understand their responsibilities under these policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), their relevance to their area of work, and that concerns are reported and managed in accordance with the appropriate procedures
- Demonstrate gender transformative programming and activities in reports
- Identify key risks within your area of operation and put in appropriate control measures to manage them
Key relationshipsInternal- Project Teams: collaborating on compilation of case stories
- Communications & Advocacy Team: coordinate on content development to publicise on-going and past work.
External- Information management and program reporting colleagues, and specialists from peer organizations (Government institutions, INGOs, UN Agencies, Embassies and Donors as well as corporate sectors) for collect and share information, benchmarking and mutual learning.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Technical expertise, skills and knowledgeTechnical Expertise- A post graduate degree in management, development studies, and or related degree;
- Demonstrated relevant knowledge in successfully editing reports, newsletters, success stories, and various other publications as required
- Excellent understanding of Plan International Programmatic Outcome Areas, Areas of Global Distinction, and Gender Transformative Programming
- Excellent understanding of the various information and documentation standards and practices with emphasis on child rights, girls equality, gender transformation and/or gender issues
Skills- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English, and general communication skills
- Computer literacy, with high proficiency in the use of standard office software applications (e.g. Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint);
- Stakeholder management, negotiation skills, and working effectively with others
- Proven ability to work creatively, innovatively and effectively with limited direct supervision
- Strong organisational skills, time management and attention to details
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks, works well under pressure, and has problem-solving capacities
- Track record of delivering results
- Strong analytical skills
Knowledge- Capacity building approaches
- A sound understanding of humanitarian and development issues
- Demonstrated knowledge of influencing in complex environments (security, conflict, drought affected etc.)
- Feminist and gender equality concepts
- Theories of change and able to support programme reporting adequately
