Background: On behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and co-funded by the European Union, GIZ implements a project to promote employment in Darfur. The project aims at improving the livelihoods of the local population, internally displaced persons and refugees by enhancing both, the demand and supply side of the labour market. On the supply side, the project cooperates with the Supreme Council for Vocational Training and Apprenticeship (SCVTA) and its branches in El Fasher and Nyala, as well as with Technical Secondary Schools and Technical Colleges to offer demand-oriented short courses, enhance the skills of teachers and to align the curricula with current and future market demands.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Tasks & Responsibilities
The intern will be carrying out following tasks and responsibilities: - Supporting the implementation of the project objectives as part of a multicultural team.
- Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management.
- Supporting with logistic and coordination for different events related to curriculum development and recognition of prior learning (RPL)
- Communication with project partners using different communication channels
- Preparation and participation in internal meetings and workshops and assisting with documenting these, e.g. by writing minutes, and photo-documentation
- Support with translations of documents (English/Arabic) and with interpreting (English/Arabic) during events and discussions with Sudanese partners when needed
- Learning Objectives
During the 6 months period of internship, the candidate will acquire following skills and competencies: - Enhance his/her knowledge of the Sudanese and international vocational training systems and institutions
- Acquire knowledge on competency-based curricula and their development as well as on Recognition of Prior Learning methods
- Receive an insight into operational planning and event management
- Improve in drafting reports, articles and other written documents in English and Arabic
- Develop a routine in using MS Office applications and MS Teams
- Strengthened his / her presentation and facilitation skills

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- Graduate university degree (at least Bachelor or equivalent) ideally with focus on technical education, project management, business, economics, development studies, or similar fields;
- Basic knowledge on educational and vocational training system
- Awareness of gender equality, women’s economic empowerment, and inclusion of people with disabilities and social disparities.
- Eagerness to learn and gradually assume more responsibility
- Reliability and commitment to deadlines
- Team player, proactive and eager to work within international team
- Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office Apps).
- Very good English and Arabic communication skills, both verbal and in writing
