This Job Description concerns the post as National Security Coordinator (NSC) at The Carter Center (TCC), Sudan.
This Job Description aims to provide a general description of the objective and content of the job as NSC. It shall be considered a guiding document that needs to be regularly updated to stay relevant to changes in the security situation, associated changes in the TCC priorities, and the resources available. In this context, the verbal and written communication between the NSC, the Senior Country Representative (SCR), and the Deputy Country Representative (CR) shall be considered additional guidance to the NSC in the planning and conduction of his/her work.
The objective of the post as NSC is to contribute to ensuring the safety of the people at and property of the TCC, Sudan (Health and Peace Programs). The NSC will contribute towards this objective through several activities among which the most important are the management of the relations with:
- The contracted security company for the provision of guards and security services;
- National security authorities; and
- Security staff of other international representations.
The NSC is part of the TCC administration team. It should be expected that up to 25% of the NSC’s time can be administrative tasks, including, for example, planning and use of vehicles and drivers.
