 Background:

The Finance and Admin Assistant is expected to support in carrying out related financial and administrative tasks by AAH standards and procedures for AAH at White Nile. The position will be based in Kosti with travel as required. 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

POSITON-SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES AND TASKS

Objective 1: Financial Management

  • prepare the monthly treasury forecast/ Cash request for the base.
  •  Issue bank statements/ reconciliation and establish a good relationship with bank managers and staff.
  • Ensuring the quality of documentation associated with the AAH standards and Donor guidelines with audit requirements.
  • Fulfill any duties that are inherent to the position and requested according to mission needs and context

Objective 2: Administration

  • Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office.
  • Schedule and organize all meetings and support visitors.
  • Support teams and ensure efficient and strong communications with all AAH departments.
  • Assist in any other finance/and administrative duties assigned by the Head of Base/or Khartoum finance department.
  • Assist in developing and updating the assets lists.
  • Assist to collect movement permissions from HAC.
  • Any Additional responsibilities.

Objective 3: Safety and Security:

  • Respect the security rules of Action Against Hunger.
  • Report any security incident to the Head of Base. 

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Training:Bachelor’s degree in business administration and Management, Accounting Finance, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Economics or any related field.
Technical specific knowledge:Knowledge of donor guidelines including UN, ECHO, OFDA, SIDA, GFFO, GAC, and EU.
Previous experience (years):
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience in the field of accounting and Administration, Logistics and at least 2 years in the humanitarian sector with an INGO or UN.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, finance reports, financial, cash requests, procurement requests and RFQs. 

Humanitarian sector knowledge:

 

  • State-level experience. demonstrated capacity to work in multicultural environments.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Proved teamwork experience. 
Organization knowledge:Prior INGO experience is preferable 
Languages:Fluent written and oral English and Arabic are mandatory

IT systems:

 

Very strong command of MS Office. Advanced level of Excel.
