Background:
The Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE) strengthens democracy around the globe through private enterprise and market-oriented reform. CIPE is one of the four core institutes of the National Endowment for Democracy and an affiliate of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Since 1983, CIPE has worked with business leaders, policymakers, and civil society to build the institutions vital to a democratic society. CIPE’s key program areas include enterprise ecosystems, democratic governance, business advocacy, anti-corruption & ethics, and trade.
Duties and responsibilities:
The Finance Officer will take charge of the operational finance of the organization by administering accounting policies to meet legal requirements. The FO should be familiar with audits, invoices, and budget preparations. Our ideal candidate demonstrates interest in managing accounting activities, including bank relations, bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable. The FO should also have excellent organizational skills and be able to handle time-sensitive tasks. Ultimately, he/she will be responsible of the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
Keep accurate records for all daily transactions.
Prepare tracking sheets for budget spending and operation costs.
Maintain strong financial records in compliance with the program contracts and CIPE policies and procedures.
Process all CIPE Sudan office related payment via Cheques, Direct transfer, or cash.
Update internal systems with financial data.
Manage procurement processes and maintain procurement records.
Help in taking care of the day-to-day office operations.
Verify invoices and purchase orders, ensuring that proper coding, signature authority and adherence to applicable regulations and financial control systems are in place.
Follow up with bank related tasks and keeps a strong relationship with all banks that CIPE has an account with.
Conduct bank and cash reconciliations, along with being the cash custodian.
Participate in financial audits.
Review and implement financial policies.

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
Qualifications:
Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures.
Experience using financial software.
Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
Strong ethics, with an ability to manage confidential data.
Excellent ability to speak, write & communicate in English.
Advanced MS Excel skills.
Sharp time management skills.
BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics.
4 years of experience in the financial department as a finance officer or a similar role, with 2 years of experience in an NGO.
