Duties and responsibilities:
- Leads the design and development of activities and works with the Grant Management Unit (GMU) team to support activity implementation.
- Serves as the Grant Management Unit (GMU) coordinator and the main interlocutor for partner and potential grantee during activity development
- Serves as the technical point of contact during throughout the activity cycle
- Maintains working relationships and liaises with partners/beneficiaries and ensure GMU team access to the partner/beneficiary
- Engages with stakeholders to identify and conceptualize potential activities that respond appropriately to the current political situation and established program goals and objectives, including developing grants, short-term technical assistance (STTA), and other support
- Prepares, presents, analyzes, and evaluates activity concepts, applications, and final award documents to ensure consistency with program priorities, goals, and objectives, in collaboration with other GMU members
- Develops and finalizes multiple activities on an ongoing basis, in a fast paced and highly evolving environment, including writing background sections, theories of change, and implementation plans, while working closely with OTI and senior management, as well as with project partners
- Provides input into the development of the program strategic framework, objectives, and proposes concepts for yellow light
- Coordinates with other members of the GMU at all stages of the grant activity cycle (concept identification, development, activity implementation, and close-out)
- During implementation, reviews grant deliverables for technical accuracy and coordinates with the Grants Manager to ensure sound technical implementation of all grant activities
- Communicates with USAID counterparts on program needs as necessary

Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:
- At least 3 years of experience in design, development, and management of donor-funded projects at the community level
- Bachelor’s degree required
- High level knowledge of Sudanese political and social context and good understanding of complex socio-political development
- Strong relationship- building, monitoring and evaluation, and report writing skills
- Excellent communication skills as well as proactive problem-solving abilities independently and with teams,
- Ability to work under difficult conditions and to work effectively and harmoniously under pressure in a stressful environment and conditions
- Thorough understanding of political context and ability to think creatively in conceptualizing relevant grant activities
- Fluent Arabic and strong English language skills required
