Introduction to NCA:
Norwegian Church Aid ('NCA') works together with people and organizations across the world in 32 countries to eradicate poverty and injustice. We provide emergency assistance in disasters and work for long-term development in local communities. Our primary areas of focus are the combatting of Gender Based Violence (GBV); Climate Resilient WASH; Climate SMART Economic Empowerment; and Health. Strengthening of civil society is also an important cross-cutting global goal. NCA is a member of the ACT Alliance, one of the world's largest humanitarian alliances. Introduction to the Country Office:
Norwegian church Aid is in Sudan since 1972 and works in the fields of relief, rehabilitation, and development, and works through national partners.
NCA’s Country Office is currently in Port Sudan. It has a Field Office in Al-Gadarif, Al-Gadarif State, where its projects activities encompass GBV, Climate Resilient WASH, Climate Smart Economic Empowerment, and Health. As well, its projects activities in Kosti, White Nile State are implemented by the national partners

Information about the Position: The overall goal of the position is to ensure that safety protocols are developed and applied in all NCA offices, guest houses and operations in Sudan and that the protocols are adaptable to the changing context of programming in the country. Therefore, NCA is seeking a highly qualified, effective and efficient individual to fill the vacancy of Sudan Safety and Access Coordinator Base in NCA Nyala office with the corresponding requirements. |

Duties and responsibilities: Specific Objectives of the Post Objective 1 Safety Risk Management: Implement and adapt safety risk management procedures, ensuring that risks are clearly understood, and LSRs/SOPs/Contingency Plans reflect the program needs in the operation areas. Objective 2 Oversee Work of Safety Focal Points (SFPs): Oversee work of SFPs across the operational areas, providing input, advice, and review of key security documentation, ensure compliance to safety protocols and coach the SFPs on their safety role. Objective 3 Trainings: Provide on-job safety trainings to staff and outsource for specific safety and safety trainings based on analyzed training needs. Objective 4 Liaison and Coordination: Regularly attend safety coordination meetings and liaise with other actors in monitoring safety environment.
