 Duties and responsibilities:

  • In coordination with Country Office Humanitarian Access Management support the Field in providing direction on Safe Humanitarian Access to the area of operations.
  • Frequent travel to field sites to  support  Rapid   Response team (RRM)
  • Develop reliable networking in order to gather and cross check information coming from the field offices and local stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain contacts with UN agencies, NGOs, diplomatic missions, etc. to facilitate collaboration and exchange of information and liaise with various stakeholders to strengthen promoting information sharing.
  • Undertake field missions, often at short notice, to assist in or lead in the assessment, planning and establishment of coordination-related issues.
  • Programme implementation

  • With the help of  Humanitarian Access manager , advise on safe movement of staff and support fleet team in travel safety, adequate safety and communications equipment in vehicles, and training of drivers in established procedures and requisite skills.

 

  • Communication and incident management
  • Ensuring that all incident reports are properly compiled and kept in filing system.
  • Monitor events, review incidents and follow-up actions and recommendations
  • Conduct and update security assessments of field areas that SC needs to access to deliver program activities.
  • Liaise on a regular basis with UN, humanitarian network and community leaders in the process of gathering and verifying situation information
  • With the help of  Humanitarian Access  manager ensure that appropriate systems are in place to effectively disseminate situational information and updates
  • With the help of Humanitarian Access manager  ensure that regular safety and humanitarian access meetings are conducted with relevant staff at the field level.

 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Track record of training, managing and developing staff in safety principles and procedures;
  • Having technical competency and training experience in field-based communications systems such as HF Codan, Motorola VHF radios, Thuraya, satellite and internet systems;
  • Experience of incident reporting and mapping, intelligence collation and analysis functions, the establishment and execution of an incident warning systems, and the compilation of situational and context risk assessments reports;
  • Excellent planning, coordination, and reporting skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of complex, diverse tasks and responsibilities;

Desirable

  • A formal safety or security Qualification or management training
  • Experience in safety provision in emergency response;
