 Background:

ABOUT FPDO: Friends of Peace and Development Organization (FPDO) is a Sudanese voluntary, non-profit organization working towards prevalence of peace and development among the communities targeted in states where various projects implemented. The main activities are under the following sectors Peace, Food Security and Livelihood, Health, Mine Action, WASH, Protection, Nutrition, and Education projects.

 

Job Summary: the Senior Programm Officers will use their experience and detailed knowledge of non-profit practices and regulations to support FPDO and sub-grantee projects, ensure smooth reporting and implemented of activities internal and external teams, and improve program procedures for tracking grants and for working with our partners from program design to closeout. The Senior Programm Officers will research programm compliance processes for program and assist the programs team in addressing outstanding compliance questions. This position is based in Khartoum and reports to the Programm Manager.



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Supervise monitoring and evaluation of projects and performance either in the HQ or sub office located in states and being able to travel to the remote Areas.
  • Coordination with donors through various channels.
  • Plan to evaluate and follow up projects implemented and that under implementation.
  • Writing reports in accordance with the requirements of project documents.
  • Coordination with the managers of branch offices to ensure the implementation of projects activities according to the work plan for each project.
  • Review the compatibility of approved projects with the needs of the target area and partners.
  • Ensure that all activities are implemented and resources allocated to ensure efficient and effective use up to the Action Plan.
  • Ensure that the activities lead to achieve the targets set.
  • Emphasis on the participation of all partners in the implementation and follow-up projects.
  • Identify problems that hinder the implementation of the project and develop proposals for solutions.
  • Identify training needs for capacity building in coordination with the Department of HR.
  • Participate in the development of project proposals for fund raising.
  • Review project work plans with branch offices.
  • Review the requirements for the implementation of projects in coordination with branch offices.
  • Coordination between branch offices and head office to review the implementation plan for future activities.
  • Coordination of work and activities with organizations working in the same field at the level of branch offices.
  • Documentation of best practices, challenges and lessons learned and share them with other branches and partners.
  • Any other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Business Administration or any relevant field;
  • Training in Projects IN Controlled Environment (PRINCE) (he prefers).

 

Experience:

  • Minimum Seven  years of Programm  management, Monitoring and Evaluation , implemented project , or related experience;
  • Minimum Five  years of experience working with Knowledge  program cycle  management, Proposal writing  and implemented ;
  • Knowledge of grants administration, and ability to interpret grants-related governmental documents and accurately respond to them;
  • Prior experience working on program support for civil society organizations is desirable.

 

Other requirements:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work outputs, including written communication;
  • Advanced word Excel skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English;
  • Ability to independently track and manage multiple tasks and complete them quickly.
