COOPI is present in 31 countries and works directly on the main humanitarian crises: Lake Chad region, Syrian crisis, Horn of Africa and Venezuelan crisis
Background: Cooperazione Internazionale (COOPI) is an international Italian NGO established in 1965. Since its establishment, COOPI has been undertaking activities to help and empower the poor and needy in different countries. COOPI Sudan started its operation in 2004 and has been primarily implementing emergency, relief and early recovery programs in water hygiene and sanitation, food security and livelihood, nutrition and protection sectors.
COOPI is currently implementing several projects in North Darfur, Kassala and Khartoum in the sectors of WASH, Food Security and Livelihood, Climate Change adaptation, Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) and Refugee Response.
In Khartoum, COOPI is implementing WASH, Shelter, DRR and Livelihood programming, specifically in the Open Areas in Khartoum state and Mayo area. As such, COOPI is looking for a qualified and competent Livelihood Officer to carry out the assigned activities in the sector.

Duties and responsibilities: Duties and Responsibilities: Planning, Implementation, Monitoring and Reporting:
· Ensure project activities are implemented in line with procurement and financial policies, accounting accurately for the funds received and used in the project implementation;
Community Engagement and Accountability:
External Relations and Representation: · Establish and maintain contact with project interlocutors and stakeholders, at the local and state level; · Facilitate the communication between community representatives, committees, local authorities and relevant stakeholders; · Ensure good relations with the main stakeholders involved in the project, in coordination with the Project Manager Assistant; · Plan, organize, and facilitate meetings with project stakeholders; · Organize and hold meetings with community members, CSOs/CBOs, and local authorities, including the locality and other government stakeholders, when needed and agreed with the project manager/assistant project manager.
Other:
General Duties: · Is aware of COOPI’s objectives and activities in Sudan. · Respects security rules at all time. · Pledges to respect and act in accordance with COOPI’s Code of Ethics, PSEA Policy, and other applicable organizational policies. · Replace other employees in their absence when necessary. The staff member may be asked to perform duties and tasks not covered in this job description as well as to provide support to other functional units when requested and necessary |
