 Background:

Humanity for Development and Prosperity (HDPO) is a leading international organization that operates in Sudan; HDPO has interventions and programs in North Darfur, West Darfur, and South-South Darfur, supporting conflict-affected populations. 

 Under the supervision of the WASH Program Manager, the WASH Field Officer is responsible for the daily technical planning, management, monitoring, and reporting of the WASH activities. The work includes conducting WASH assessments, distributing kits, awareness sessions, and supervising of WASH facilities construction in the project areas. The field officer ensures proper coordination with contractors, municipalities, other authorities, and related HDPO sectors The position requires extensive fieldwork and movement between several sites in all project locations to adapt her/his tasks and job description to the requirements of HDPO as a humanitarian organization to respond to any humanitarian crisis.

 Duties and responsibilities:

 Follow up day to day implementation of WASH activities (60%)

  • Liaises with the WASH Program Manager to plan and implement water and sanitation activities in the field (Assessments, Distributions, Sessions, Supervision).
  • Ensuring understanding of the different needs of the women, men, girls, boys, and people with special needs in the communities, on water and sanitation and coordinating with the local partners on best and complementary implementation.
  • Follow up on the construction and rehabilitation work of different water and sanitation facilities with the help of a WASH Engineer.
  • Support in ensuring the quality and quantity of material at the field according to agreed plans and BBQs.
  • Support the elaboration and dissemination of hygiene promotion materials,
  • Identify the most appropriate hygiene promotion/C19 related messages
  • Mobilize the community to change hygiene practices and C19 prevention and control behavior. Creation and follow-up WASH Committees and their performance in the camps and the hosting community.

  • Preparation of weekly work plans according to the implementation Plan
  • Participation in Rapid Response Teams (RRT) under HDPO, carrying out all related tasks as a WASH partner at all levels of the pandemic

Monitoring, coordination, and communication (30%)

  • Prepare and submit all WASH field reports to the WASH Program Manager
  • Monitor and report all WASH activities in the field ensuring there is compliance with plans and HDPO’s standards
  • Monitor water and sanitation facilities acceptance and beneficiary satisfaction in Coordination with the Meal team
  • Responds to and records beneficiary WASH technical feedback and complaints at field level
  • Collect, organize, and develop all data, files and documents.

Objective 3: Data collection and reporting (10%)

  • File, document, and report work progress to his/her line manager on a weekly basis
  • Regular reporting of work progress to the Program Manager
  • Report possible problems or conflicts during the activities

Report the use of materials and possible improvement
Security

  • Respect the security rules specified in the mission and base security plan, see to it that the team under his/her responsibility complies with the security plan and performs the security management tasks that can be assigned in its protocols
  • Communicate to the security focal person of the working location any security-related information or noncompliance with the security plan

 Support humanitarian activities of HDPO

  • Support the emergency interventions of the organization as per the employee’s abilities.
  • Support any activity that helps to reach our humanitarian goals, as per the employee’s abilities
  • Promote gender equality within the humanitarian and/or development work.

 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

- B.sc in water engineering, civil enginerring or any other related engineerng. 

2- 5 years experieince in emeregncy WASH project field work. 

good in communication and reporting.
