 Background:

 

  • CIPE is looking for a Communciations Associate to help in managing it's field office communications in Sudan, She/he should assist Senior Management with maintaining and managing relationship with CIPE partners in Sudan. This is a full-time position located in Khartoum, Sudan.

    The Communications Associate will establish and maintain information for CIPE's networks network, arrange for its activities, plan, and facilitate events, and report regularly to CIPE country director. 

 



 
 Duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

·       Works with the field office staff, and Communications team in designing and implementing a communications strategy for the overall project, including the use of traditional and social media.

·       Manage field office communications, arrange appointments, and help in organizing meetings/events and maintaining calendars.

·       Coordinates and develops new content for the CIPE website and internal fortnightly reports. This includes event summaries, publication descriptions, and articles highlighting project successes.

·       Identifies and develops connections to knowledge management outlets for ongoing initiatives and projects.

·       Prepares social media toolkits and other digital content for key project launches, as well as updates to the materials.

·       Writes and creates updates to relevant websites and social media pages, including those related to the Sudan Anticorruption Resource Center.

·       Provides layout and design support for posters and communications products. Output includes briefs, infographics, factsheets, case studies, convening outputs, and Research-to-Action plans.

Coordinates and plans events, such as technical working group meetings, workshops, and conferences


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

  • Excellent writing skills. Copy editing experience a plus in both English and Arabic
  • Demonstrated professional experience with social media posting and website maintenance. This includes developing and implementing social media strategies and campaigns with peers and partners.
  • Experience with the following platforms, software, and online tools is highly desirable: Microsoft Office Suite, WordPress, Google Analytics, MailChimp, Hootsuite or Sprout Social, Asana or Monday.
  • Graphics design experience a plus, including Adobe programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and Canva or Stencil.
  • Familiarity with global development topics a preferred, including sensitivity to cross-cultural dynamics. Experience working with U.S. government-funded projects is a plus.
  • Excellent management, time-management, and problem-solving skills. Also,
  • self-reliant and resourceful. This includes the ability to learn and adapt to shifting priorities and timelines.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Health, Health Policy, Social Sciences, or another related field.
  • Four years of progressive experience in a Communications position, preferably with an international development organization or social research organization.
