CIPE recently launched a project in Sudan under Rapidly Responding to Democratic Opportunity to support local anti-corruption efforts, In June 2020, CIPE launched Sudan Anti-Corruption Resource Center (SARC) in coordination with the Development Studies and Research Institute (DSRI) at the University of Khartoum, SARC’s mission is to organize, convene and support locally-driven anti-corruption reform efforts and build effective governance in Sudan. This position is responsible for providing administrative support to SARC, coordinating its activities, and working closely with CIPE and DSRI to implement CIPE’s anti-corruption work in Sudan.

The Center for International Private Enterprise is looking to hire an Anticorruption Associate in Khartoum, Sudan. The Anticorruption Associate is expected to manage anticorruption part of Sudan portfolio. She/he should assist Senior Management with maintaining and managing relationship with CIPE partners in Sudan. This is a full-time position located in Khartoum, Sudan.

The Anticorruption Associate will establish and maintain anticorruption network, arrange for its activities, plan, and facilitate events, and report regularly to both ACGC and CIPE country director. This position is based in Khartoum, Sudan with possible travel throughout the country

Key responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships with CIPE’s grantees in Sudan
  • Coordinating programming and new opportunities with CIPE’s DC-based anti-corruption staff
  • Managing the timely delivery of grantee narrative and financial reports
  • Monitoring and supporting grantee program activities
  • Attending grantee events.
  • Managing the logistics of CIPE’s anti-corruption communications campaign in Sudan, including finding new information and resources for the Sudan Anti-Corruption Resource Center webpage.
  • Coordinating with CIPE’s field office in Ethiopia for financial reporting
  • Arranging the timely translation of key program documents
  • Communicating with stakeholders including government agencies, INGOs and local civil society groups.

 

 


 
 Minimum Qualification, Skills and Experience Required:

Key qualifications include:

  • Required:
    • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from accredited university, a master’s
      degree is preferred
    • Spoken and written fluency in English and Arabic
    • Strong writing skills
    • Ability to travel within Sudan
    • Availability to join calls with DC staff
    • Experience working with non-profit organizations
    • Ability to discuss sensitive anti-corruption issues diplomatically
    • Interest in and knowledge of anti-corruption principles
    • High level of independence and integrity
  • Preferred:
  • Experience working on anti-corruption or organizational compliance issues
  • Experience reviewing financial reports
  • Experience working with local Sudanese civil society organizations and international non-governmental organizations.
  • Experience researching and identifying reliable sources of information online
  • Basic management skills for website and social media accounts
